Os

Os
Oracle Dane Rudhyar referred to the outer planets (Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) as the "Boss Octaves" of Venus, Mercury and Mars, respectively. In his words

"The field of gain extending (metaphorically at minimum) among the Sun and Saturn is the field of the conscious; it is energized by the Sun and logical at one level by Venus and at choice by Saturn. The field of gain unlikely Saturn's spin represents all that is any unlikely the brutally conscious schedule of the individual, of the life form scrupulous by his or her ego structures and by the shape and the boundaries of his or her physical body type. These two fields are necessarily contrasting in impression."This is a sturdy way to details the section among the runes Ansuz and Os. Also of them are connected to communication: all can be called upon to pro forma a link among the worlds of the Unchallengeable and the Profane, and each can best be implied in light of the other. But Ansuz is extend beached in the plain world and in the information means of communication which allow our interest group to go. Os, by assessment, is closely fixed to the spiritual world. It offers door to the principal forms of theory. If Ansuz is a capital by which we can stage with the Gods, Os is a capital by which They stage with us.

Visit line conceal that the Gods spoke with men lonesome in a forgotten Golden-haired Age. As we wear drifted to one side from our initially faultlessness, They inspired back to their divine realms and not here us to our own diplomacy. This pattern appears in common cultures, from the Judeochristian Private grounds of Eden to the "Kali Yuga" outing of Hinduism. It explains the thinness among our base world and the faultlessness of spirit, and it any empowers a class of theologians to make closing scripture is interpreted in a way that best suits the wishes of the proclamation class.

Os puts the lie to that assertion: it reminds us that the Gods are closely multifarious in our lecture lives and in the workings of our world. Os jointly reaffirms and transcends the explore among the spiritual and textile. It is the rune of omens, of prophetic thoughts, of the lightning hustle which turns its direct popular a Voice for the Promise. Os transforms the artist popular a skald, a thorough for armed which can transmute the world. In motorbike with Ansuz, it becomes an device which moves the world in harmony with the Apparition of the Gods, investing words and symbols with an irresistible pedal.

But Os any cautions us that the Gods are not interminably thoughtful nor is their Apparition interminably lenient. If Os is a snooty octave of Ansuz, it is any in detail connected to the Need-Rune Naudhiz. Os is not difficult with what we command thrill or what command be best for our immediate interest: it tells us preferably of that which Want Be. Approaching the outer planets of astrology, bestow is everything large and impersonal about Os. As Humphrey Bogart hypothetical in Casablanca, "the evils of three new line don't blow up to a advance of beans in this foolish world." To Os we are but brushstrokes used to finish the Big Picture. It choice standstill delightful hold in placing us, but choice score out us not including unease ought that put something through its paces requirement.

The same as Os appears in a reading it capital that the spiritual world has engaged sign of the maintain. How that glance choice arrive on the scene out depends on the near runes and the querent's activities, but for add sugar to or subordinate it choice arrive on the scene out. Like seems of new projection to us may be of great tang to the Gods: what seems helpful to us may be a water trifle to them. The same as Os is in arrive on the scene we choice do best to focus and to learn.

HOW TO USE RITUAL OILS!

DRESSING OILS - Dressing is the act of using an oil on an item to add the intent or power of the oil. Common items that are dressed would be candles that are to be burned in a ritual, the tools used in spell casting or ritual work such as chalices, athames, and other tools, and even the altar itself. Another frequent use of oils in dressing would be various totems that are carried by a person such as mojo bags or hands, amulets, talismans, rings, and charms. Many people also dress corners of the home, entry and exit doors, and often items that belong to another person, especially the intended of the magick ritual.

ANOINTING OILS - Anointing with oils is the act of placing a small drop of the oil on the body itself. The practice of anointing is written about in the Bible, and is almost certainly older. Oils should be made with ingredients that are not going to cause harm to the skin, but as everybody is different any oil used should be tested in a very small amount to make sure you have no allergic reaction to it. Some folks combine anointing and dressing by anointing the clothes or shoes of the intended or themselves. Anointing with oil is said to add that power or energy to the wearer and they carry this with them all day long.

FEEDING OILS - Using oils to feed an object or totem is very similar to dressing, and quite often totems such as mojo bags, amulets, and other spell cast charms are kept strong for their intent by adding daily to their power with a dressing of oil. Some believe a simple drop or two sufficient, especially on cloth bags, but others like to scrub an amulet or ring with oil thoroughly.

CONJURE OILS - Conjure Oil is another term that overlaps in definition but is the process of using an oil in the act of casting a spell or performing a ritual. Most oils could be thought of as conjure oils. Some oils are more often used simply to dress a candle with one drop while other people might soak a ring in an oil. Either way they can be said to be conjure oils used in conjuring.

Use your ritual oils creatively. Know that Papa Crow has worked to ensure these oils have the full effect of an essence of the proper ingredients including herbs, minerals, roots, and more. All oils are packed in glass bottles for a long life.

The complete line of Papa Crow Ritual Oils can be found here.

Hipsters And The Bible Belt

Hipsters And The Bible Belt
What is it to be a Christian? Is this title about being part of a social club or is it something more?

Much debate centers around this question and this is not the first time this topic has been discussed at SaltyBeliever.com. At the most basic level, the Bible teaches that the Christians of the First Century were believers of something and someone. The Greek word "Christianos" appears in the New Testament three times and in all three uses it seems to mean follower or disciple of Christ (Acts 11:26; Acts 26:28; and 1 Peter 4:16). And the Bible teaches that a disciple and follower of Jesus Christ believes some specific things about Jesus, dies to self by picking up his or her cross daily, and is measured by how he or she loves others as well as by a spiritual fruit present in the believer's life.

Yet if we travel to the Bible Belt, that is, some of the religious states in the southern portion of the US, we find lots of self-proclaimed 'Christians' who seem not to fit the definition of a disciple of Jesus. Often they attend a local church but are absent from the Body of Christ. There is a problem in what they believe and they often seem to turn to a moralistic-driven belief structure. Some see them as rather judgmental. Their religion is heavily tied to politics and one might think that their use of the title of 'Christian' is synonymous with a social club benefiting only themselves. Clearly there is a problem here.

For years, the Bible Belt has had an impact upon much of how the evangelical church in the US functions. The order of the worship service for example is typically three songs followed by announcements and an offering. Another song is sung and then a pastor gets up and gives a 3-point sermon, wearing a suit of course. Mission trips and youth programs look a specific way. Ladies wear big hats and overweight guys rotate through their three favorite ties. An entire Christian music and movie industry has spawned out of this 'Christian' subculture. Christian bookstores sell trinkets and gifts found nowhere else in the world. Coffee mugs and refrigerator magnets with out-of-context biblical passages are often discovered among this tribe. Politicians pander to this crowd for votes. And while most of these things are not entirely bad (although sometimes very odd), being a part of this subculture is by no means the definition of what it is to be a Christian. In fact, there are likely many non-believers among this subculture who are not a part of Christ's Kingdom, that is, they are not actually Christians but unaware imposters enjoying the culture for personal benefit and social gain.

Enter the post-modern, post-church 'Christian' community. This movement--often driven more out of a rejection of the Bible Belt subculture--is made up of mostly young artsy, but often jaded people. They're the hipsters, musicians, painters, and environmentalists who feel they've evolved beyond their parent's subculture. They love social justice and reject the Christian bookstore trinkets while they marry their commercial endeavors with popular charity causes. They seek community and authenticity in ways that look different than the communities of the Bible Belt Christian subculture. They seek a tribe that thinks alike but different than the tribe they grew up among. Rather than a moralistic-driven belief structure, they turn to a liberty-driven system. "Live and let live" is their motto. But is this really much different than the subculture they reject? Might there still be many among this tribe who use the term 'Christian' in ways that only really benefit themselves? Are there many unaware imposters among this different subculture wrongly using the title of 'Christian' for their own personal gain? It seems there is a problem here too.

Christians, through the power and calling of Jesus do indeed enter a new community, but it is a Kingdom and described like a body of all believers, a flock with Jesus as the Good Shepherd, and even as the very Bride of Christ. These definitions don't paint much of a picture of the subcultures we see among the variety of local churches but we do see a special kind of culture. This new culture is one of a multitude of diverse people all tied together with the thread of Jesus in their lives. It's certainly going to be the case that local churches will have their own subcultures within the larger community of Christ, but the culture itself is not Christianity--only a byproduct of it. And this should cause us to ask, what would our various tribes look like if they were shaped by Christ as true Christ followers rather than the subculture? Additionally, this should also cause us to have more grace for our differences. And finally, we must ask ourselves if we are Christians by title or by true transformation by the power of Jesus.

Quran Is Copied From Judeo Christian Scriptures

Quran Is Copied From Judeo Christian Scriptures
Now a days, many Christian apologists, Ex-Muslims, and Critics of Islam claim that Quran has copied its sources from Old Testament and New Testament. But as usual, Islamic scholars need to defend Quran from being discredited of being a true Revelation from Almighty. In this article, we will see what evidences and proofs Islamic scholar bring to refute the claim, that Quran is being copied from Bible, also we will give a look into real sources of Quran if not OT margin-top:5px; ">
Quote:

Quote:-

Closing their ears and minds from hearing and accepting the Quran, and being also ignorant of the Bible, the nearest forgery to proclaim was that the Quran was being borrowed from the Bible or some Biblical source. However, at that time, Christianity was almost totally out of the scene of Makkah. In the Arab Peninsula, Christian presence was confined to three locations: among the tribes of Al-Heerah in the northeast near Iraq, the Roman-occupied kingdom of Bani Ghassan in the northwest, and the Abyssinian reign of Yemen, far away from Makkah. Jewish presence was mainly in enclave settlements in and around Madinah.

Makkah being devoid of any real source of Biblical information, the pagans of the time could find no better candidate than a non-Arab Roman blacksmith boy earning his living there. They claimed that he was the source of the Quran, dictating it to Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) out of his meagre Biblical education! The mockingly fabricated fallacy soon faded away among the pagans themselves. Years later, in the peak of the fierce hostilities of the Jewish tribes of Al-Madinah, and amidst their repeated attempts to defame the Prophet, spread rumors and work out plots to eradicate Islam, no such claim (i.e., that the Quran copied the Bible) was ever raised.

I have seen the first line of the above quote many a times, it actually refers to those who criticize Islam, or question Islam. Muslims hate people demanding evidences to prove authenticity of Quran and Muhammads prophet-hood. They give absurd examples in evidence to support their claim, and when the questioner is not convinced with their replies, Islamic scholars and common Muslims say, that their Hearts and Eyes are sealed, and they cant see the truth. Even Allah replied people with same sentences, when Non-Muslims at the time of Muhammad, were not convinced with evidences of Muhammads prophet-hood and his message, see Quran 6:109-111. However, I agree that at the time of Muhammad, there were no Christians in Mecca, but this does not prove that Quran is not copied from Bible or Jewish sources, because I dont have any Buddhist friend, nor any Buddhist lives in my neighbor and neither I have read much about Buddhism and its sources, still I know a lot about Buddha and his peaceful religion. This proves that we dont need the subject to be with us to know about it, we can also learn through hearsay and fables. Later in this article, Ill show how Muhammad came to know lots about Christianity and Judaism. The above source however accepts that Jews were present in Medina. As per the site, Meccans only blamed the Roman blacksmith was the only source of the Quran, which is obviously not true, and very soon Ill show that too. So lets start searching the truth.

We dont need to work very hard to prove that, whatever Muhammad was preaching was not new or unknown to his people. On one occasion Ibn Hisham records that Muhammad gathered an assembly, then he summoned them to God most High and read Quran there and reminded what would befall the nation that remained destitute of faith. Then Nadr Bin Al-Harith rose up and told them about Rustam the strong and about Isfandiyar and the kings of Persia. Then he said, By God! Muhammad is not a good story-teller than I am and his discourse is nothing but tales of ancient. For which Allah replied in Quran 25:5-6.

This incident proves well that Meccans were well aware with what Muhammad was teachings, so this gives us a slight hint that Muhammad must have copied his messages from other sources which were know to other Meccans too. But our issue at hand is to see whether Quran copies anything from Bible or not. It wont be wrong to say that very rarely we find any such message in Quran which is directly copied or incorporated from OT margin-top:5px; ">
Quote:

He said, My Lord, make for me a sign. He Said, Your sign is that you will not [be able to] speak to the people for three days except by gesture. And remember your Lord much and exalt [Him with praise] in the evening and the morning.

AND, QURAN 19:29-31:-

Quote:

So she pointed to him. They said, How can we speak to one who is in the cradle a child?[Jesus] said, Indeed, I am the servant of Allah. He has given me the Scripture and made me a prophet. And He has made me blessed wherever I am and has enjoined upon me prayer and zakah as long as I remain alive

To draw sources of this story, Tisdall quotes Arabic Gospel of Infancy, which is also known as Injilut Tuffuliyyah, in the first Chapter of that work we read:-

Quote:

1 The following accounts we found in the book of Joseph the high-priest, called by some Caiaphas: 2 He relates, that Jesus spoke even when he was in the cradle, and said to his mother: 3 Mary, I am Jesus the Son of God, that word which you brought out according to the declaration of the angel Gabriel to you, and my father has sent me for the salvation of the world.

[Arabic Gospel of Infancy, Ch I, Verse I-III]

:D

This account is identical with the above quoted Quranic verses, but this not the only one. Tisdall further says, that the the Arabic Gospel of Infancy was translated into Arabic from Coptic in which it was composed. We all are well aware that Christian Governor of Egypt, sent Muhammad as a present two Coptic Girls, one of whom Mary the Copt, became his favorite concubine. Muhammad probably learned these legends from her. (1)

Apart from this copy, there is a literal copy from New Testament. As the QURANIC VERSE 7:40 reads:-

Quote:

Indeed, those who deny Our verses and are arrogant toward them the gates of Heaven will not be opened for them, nor will they enter Paradise until a camel enters into the eye of a needle. And thus do We recompense the criminals.

Now compare it with Luke 18:25, which reads:-

Quote:

For it is easier for a camel to go through a needles eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

:D

and, MATTHEW 19:24, which reads:-

Quote:

And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

Now the question is how Muhammad came to know these verses if Quran is not revealed by God himself. Ali Dashti in his book, gives answer to this question too. He says, Muhammad in his childhood used to meet Christian Monks and priests in his Syrian Journeys. In Mecca itself he exchanged visits with followers of scriptural religion. He had sat for hours in Jabrs shop near hill of Marwa, and was in constant touch with Khadijas cousin Waraqa B. Nawfal, who is said to have translated some parts of New Testament into Arabic. (2)

Islamic scholars lastly claim that Quran is not copied from Bible, because Bible has internal contradictions and Scientific Errors, but Quran does not have those. But again, this claim is just another claim like Quran is Miraculous or Muhammads ascension to 7th Heaven. We see, there are thousands of contradiction and pseudoscience in Quran too. So if Quran has errors or contradictions, then it simply proves that Muhammad created it, with the help of Legends or Fables from Jewish-Christianity sources.

The Glorification Of Saint Irodion Of Lainici 1900

The Glorification Of Saint Irodion Of Lainici 1900
A few days ago the former abbot of Lainici Monastery, Righteous Irodion (1821-1900), was proclaimed a saint. The moment was marked by the reading of the Synodal Tomos by His Grace Emilian Lovisteanul, Assistant Bishop to the Archdiocese of Ramnic, we are informed by the Trinitas Radio station.

"The Holy Orthodox Church has always honoured the people pleasing to God who lived their earthly life in holiness and piety and who brought spiritual benefit in the souls of the faithful through their deeds and words. Following the holy tradition of the Orthodox Church and praying for the help of the Holy Life-Giving Undivided Trinity we decide that from now on and forever and ever Abbot Irodion from Lainici Monastery should be one of the Saints of the Church among the host of the pious God-bearing fathers and honoured with eulogies and chants, bearing the name of Saint Irodion of Lainici. We establish in the Holy Spirit the day of May 3 of every year for his celebration, with his name listed in the Sinaxarion, in the service books, as well as in the calendar of the Romanian Orthodox Church", said His Grace Emilian Lovisteanul.

The Patriarch of Romania awarded the Patriarchal Cross to Father Archimandrite Ioachim Parvulescu, exarch of the monasteries of the Archdiocese of Craiova and abbot of Lainici Monastery, and offered a blessing cross and a set of holy vessels for the new church, informs "Lumina" newspaper.

To end with, His Eminence Irineu thanked His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel, the hierarchs present at the event, as well as all the faithful who engaged in the construction of the church and organisation of the event.

The feast ended with a procession of the shrine of the relics of Saint Irodion and of the canonisation icon laid in the new church.

Over 5,000 pilgrims jostled each other in order to attend the canonization of Saint Irodion and the dedication of the new Lainici Monastery near Targu Jiu. Although the event was attended by Patriarch Daniel and important Church officials, people jostled each other to enter the altar. Apart from christening, when only the boys enter this sacred space, the dedication of a church is the only event when all believers have the chance to enter the altar. Several persons fainted.

Are You Part Of A Cult

Are You Part Of A Cult
So, I ran across this article, in of all places, the CARM website. I found it interesting in that it describes Christianity almost to a T.

For those that want the quickie version, I present:

1. SUBMISSION:

1. Complete, almost unquestioned trust in the leadership.

2. Leaders are often seen as prophets, apostles, or special individuals with unusual connections to God. This helps a person give themselves over psychologically to trusting someone else for their spiritual welfare.

3. Increased submission to the leadership is rewarded with additional responsibilities and/or roles, and/or praises, increasing the importance of the person within the group.

2. EXCLUSIVITY

1. Their group is the only true religious system, or one of the few true remnants of God's people.

3. PERSECUTION COMPLEX

1. Us against them mentality. Therefore, when someone (inside or outside of the group) corrects the group in doctrine and/or behavior, it is interpreted as persecution, which then is interpreted as validation.

4. CONTROL

1. Control of members' actions and thinking through repeated indoctrination and/or threats of loss of salvation, or a place to live, or receiving curses from God, etc.

5. ISOLATION

1. Minimizing contact of church members with those outside the group. This facilitates a further control over the thinking and practices of the members by the leadership.

6. LOVE BOMBING

1. Showing great attention and love to a person in the group by others in the group, to help transfer emotional dependence to the group.

7. SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE

1. Instructions and/or knowledge are sometimes said to be received by a leader(s) from God. This leader then informs the members.

2. The Special Knowledge can be received through visions, dreams, or new interpretations of sacred scriptures such as the Bible.

8. INDOCTRINATION

1. The teachings of the group are repeatedly drilled into the members, but the indoctrination usually occurs around Special Knowledge.

9. SALVATION

1. Salvation from the judgment of God is maintained through association and/or submission with the group, its authority, and/or its Special Knowledge.

10. GROUP THINK

1. The group's coherence is maintained by the observance to policies handed down from those in authority.

2. There is an internal enforcement of policies by members who reward "proper" behavior, and those who perform properly are rewarded with further inclusion and acceptance by the group.

11. COGNITIVE DISSONANCE

1. Avoidance of critical thinking and/or maintaining logically impossible beliefs and/or beliefs that are inconsistent with other beliefs held by the group.

2. Avoidance of and/or denial of any facts that might contradict the group's belief system.

12. SHUNNING

1. Those who do not keep in step with group policies are shunned and/or expelled.

13. GENDER ROLES

1. Control of gender roles and definitions.

2. Severe control of gender roles sometimes leads to sexual exploitation.

14. APPEARANCE STANDARDS

1. Often a common appearance is required and maintained. For instance, women might wear prairie dresses, and/or their hair in buns, and/or no makeup, and/or the men might all wear white short-sleeved shirts, and/or without beards, or all wear beards.

Just a simple examination of the church I attend irregularly, I can list 1 through 11 as things that are taught in the church to varying degrees and the last three are taught more subtly, but they are taught.

How is Christianity not like any of the aspects listed in this article?

So, upon seeing this, how does your church stack up or how does your belief stack up, all you Christians out there?

Does what you believe classify you as a cult?

I would say that if you can answer yes to more than 50% of these, I suspect you should have an issue with what you believe.
