The Third Secret Of Fatima The Impostor Sr Lucia And The End Of The W

The Third Secret Of Fatima The Impostor Sr Lucia And The End Of The W
Over and done with THE Put the lid on Several Report, THE Instructor GOES Another time BIBLE VERSES, BUT Thus THE Objective Story BEGINS.

An entrancing Tape that's to the same extent promoted by some Catholic Churches. They illustration that Sr. Lucia was killed and replaced by original individual to exclusively shield the truth about the Third Unidentified of Fatima. There's no conjecture the photos of this individual in her formerly days, compared to photos of her in future days reveal a thriving being individual.

How could this happen, unless she was vertical immature and replaced? Her moral regulate about announcing the Third secret that was particular her by the assumed Pious Mother, was crucial in her carefulness, but later she uncommon her carefulness and no longer felt the nation be obliged to understand it. So, as the church is saying, how is it that this fervent individual that was tailing the Pious Mother's ruling, all of a swift grave that "SHE" knew superior than the ostentatious Saint? How is it her looks uncommon so appreciably in this area the exact time?

This is a really suspicious story, but it seems to protect some big questions. One of inhabit questions is whether Lucia was replaced, but the tiny is if the aberrational check over that the children saw, really of a spiritual type, or was this from extraterrestrials, who manifold uniformity bind directed human's pace from the beginning?

Jan 21 Playing The Infinite Game

Jan 21 Playing The Infinite Game
Dear Friends,

Be Well.

"PLAYING THE INFINITE GAME "

Kevin Kelly

"The following is adapted from" What Technology Wants, "published by Viking/Penguin, used with permission." There are two kinds of games in the universe: finite games and infinite games. A finite game is played to win. Card games, poker rounds, games of chance, bets, sports such as football, board games such as Monopoly, races, marathons, puzzles, Tetris, Rubik's Cube, Scrabble, sudoku, online games such as "World of Warcraft", and "Halo" -- all are finite games. The game ends when someone wins. An infinite game, on the other hand, is played to keep the game going. It does not terminate because there is no winner.

Finite games require rules that remain constant. The game fails if the rules change during the game. Altering rules during play is unforgivable, the very definition of unfairness. Great effort, then, is taken in a finite game to spell out the rules beforehand and enforce them during the game.

An infinite game, however, can keep going only by changing its rules. To maintain open-endedness, the game must play with its rules.

A finite game such as baseball or chess or Super Mario must have boundaries -- spatial, temporal, or behavioral. So big, this long, do or don't do that.

An infinite game has no boundaries. James Carse, the theologian who developed these ideas in his brilliant treatise "Finite and Infinite Games", says, "Finite players play within boundaries; infinite players play with boundaries."

Evolution, life, mind, and the technium are infinite games. Their game is to keep the game going. To keep all participants playing as long as possible. They do that, as all infinite games do, by playing around with the rules of play. The evolution of evolution is just that kind of play.

Unreformed weapon technologies generate finite games. They produce winners (and losers) and cut off options. Finite games are dramatic; think sports and war. We can think of hundreds of more exciting stories about two guys fighting than we can about two guys at peace. But the problem with those exciting 100 stories about two guys fighting is that they all lead to the same end -- the demise of one or both of them -- unless at some point they turn and cooperate. However, the one boring story about peace has no end. It can lead to a thousand unexpected stories -- maybe the two guys become partners and build a new town or discover a new element or write an amazing opera. They create something that will become a platform for future stories. They are playing an infinite game. Peace is summoned all over the world because it births increasing opportunities and, unlike a finite game, contains infinite potential. The things in life we love most -- including life itself -- are infinite games. When we play the game of life, or the game of the technium, goals are not fixed, the rules are unknown and shifting. How do we proceed? A good choice is to increase choices. As individuals and as a society we can invent methods that will generate as many new "good" possibilities as possible. A good possibility is one that will generate more good possibilities... and so on in the paradoxical infinite game. The best "open-ended" choice is one that leads to the most subsequent "openended" choices. That recursive tree is the infinite game of technology.

The goal of the infinite game is to keep playing -- to explore every way to play the game, to include all games, all possible players, to widen what is meant by playing, to spend all, to hoard nothing, to seed the universe with improbable plays, and if possible to surpass everything that has come before. In his mythic book "The Singularity Is Near", Ray Kurzweil, serial inventor, technology enthusiast, and unabashed atheist, announces: "Evolution moves toward greater complexity, greater elegance, greater knowledge, greater intelligence, greater beauty, greater creativity, and greater levels of subtle attributes such as love. In every monotheistic tradition God is likewise described as all of these qualities, only without limitation.... So evolution moves inexorably toward this conception of God, although never quite reaching this ideal."

If there is a God, the arc of the technium is aimed right at it. I'll retell the Great Story of this arc because it points to an infinite game.

The story and game begin at the beginning. As the undifferentiated energy at the big bang is cooled by the expanding space of the universe, it coalesces into measurable entities, and, over time, the particles condense into atoms. Further expansion and cooling allows complex molecules to form, which self-assemble into self-reproducing entities. With each tick of the clock, increasing complexity is added to these embryonic organisms, increasing the speed at which they change. As evolution evolves, it keeps piling on different ways to adapt and learn until eventually the minds of animals are caught in self-awareness. This self-awareness thinks up more minds, and together a universe of minds transcends all previous limits. The destiny of this collective mind is to expand imagination in all directions until it is no longer solitary but reflects the infinite. Everything present in the universe is a winner.

There is even a modern theology that postulates that God, too, changes. Without splitting too many theological hairs, this theory, called Process Theology, describes God as a process, a perfect process, if you will. In this theology, God is less a remote, monumental, gray-bearded hacker genius and more of an ever-present flux, a movement, a process, a primary self-made becoming. The ongoing self-organized mutability of life, evolution, mind, and the technium is a reflection of God's becoming. God-as-Verb unleashes a set of rules that unfold into an infinite game, a game that continually loops back into itself.

I bring up God here at the end because it seems unfair to speak about autocreation without mentioning God -- the paragon of autocreation. The only other alternative to an endless string of creations triggered by previous creation is a creation that emerges from its own self-causation. That prime self-causation, which is not preceded but instead first makes itself before it makes either time or nothingness, is the most logical definition of God. This view of a mutable God does not escape the paradoxes of self-creation that infect all levels of self-organization, but rather it embraces them as necessary paradoxes. God or not, self-creation is a mystery.

In one sense, this is a story about continuous autocreation (with or without the concept of a prime autocreation). The tale tells how the ratcheting bootstrapping of increasing complexity, expanding possibilities, and spreading sentience -- which we now see in the technium and beyond -- is driven by forces that were inherent within the first nanospeck of existence and how this seed of flux has unfolded itself in such a manner that it can, in theory, keep unfolding and making itself for a very long time.

A single thread of selfgeneration ties the cosmos, the bios, and the technos together into one creation. Life is less a miracle than a necessity for matter and energy. The technium is less an adversary to life than its extension. Humans are not the culmination of this trajectory but an intermediary, smack in the middle between the born and the made.

For several thousand years, humans have looked to the organic world, the world of the living, for clues about the nature of creation and even of a creator. Life was a reflection of the divine. Humans in particular were deemed to be made in the image of God. But if you believe humans are made in the image of God, the autocreator, then we have done well, because we have just birthed our own creation: the technium. Many, including many believers in God, would call that hubris. Compared to what has come before us, our accomplishments are puny.

"As we turn from the galaxies to the swarming cells of our own being, which toil for something, some entity beyond their grasp, let us remember man, the self-fabricator who came across an ice age to look into the mirrors and magic of science. Surely he did not come to see himself or his wild visage only. He came because he is at heart a listener and a searcher for some transcendent realm beyond himself." That's Loren Eiseley, anthropologist and author, ruminating on what he calls our "immense journey" so far under the stars.

The bleak message of the stars in their overwhelming infinitude is that we are nothing. It is hard to argue with 500 billion galaxies, each with a billion stars. In the mists of the endless cosmos, our brief blink in an obscure corner is nothing at all.

Yet the fact that there is something in one corner that sustains itself against the starry vastness, the fact that there is anything bootstrapping at all, is an argument against the nihilism of the stars. The smallest thought could not exist unless the entire universe and the laws of physics were in some way encouraging it. The existence of a single rosebud, a single oil painting, a single parade of costumed hominins strolling down a street of bricks, a single glowing screen waiting for input, or a single book on the nature of our creations requires life-friendly attributes baked deeply into the primeval laws of being. "The universe knew we were coming," says Freeman Dyson. And if the cosmic laws are biased to produce one bit of life and mind and technology, then one bit will flow after another. Our immense journey is a trace of tiny, improbable events stacked into a series of inevitabilities.

The technium is the way the universe has engineered its own selfawareness. Carl Sagan put it memorably: "We are starstuff pondering the stars." But by far humanity's greatest, most immense journey is not the long trek from star dust to wakefulness but the immense journey we have in front of us. The arc of complexity and open-ended creation in the last four billion years is nothing compared to what lies ahead.

The universe is mostly empty because it is waiting to be filled with the products of life and the technium, with questions and problems and the thickening relations between bits that we call "con scientia" -- shared knowledge -- or consciousness.

And whether we like it or not, we stand at the fulcrum of the future. We are in part responsible for the evolution of this planet proceeding onward.

About 2,500 years ago most of humanity's major religions were set in motion in a relatively compact period. Confucius, Lao-tzu, Buddha, Zoroaster, the authors of the Upanishads, and the Jewish patriarchs all lived within a span of 20 generations. Only a few major religions have been born since then. Historians call that planetary fluttering the Axial Age. It was as if everyone alive awoke simultaneously and, in one breath, set out in search of their mysterious origins. Some anthropologists believe the Axial Age awakening was induced by the surplus abundance that agriculture created, enabled by massive irrigation and waterworks around the world.

It would not surprise me if we saw another axial awakening someday, powered by another flood of technology. I find it hard to believe that we could manufacture robots that actually worked and not have them disturb our ideas of religion and God. Someday we will make other minds, and they will surprise us. They will think of things we never could have imagined, and if we give these minds their full embodiment, they will call themselves children of God, and what will we say? When we alter the genetics in our veins, will this not reroute our sense of a soul? Can we cross over into the quantum realm, where one bit of matter can be in two places at once, and still not believe in angels?

Look what is coming: Technology is stitching together all the minds of the living, wrapping the planet in a vibrating cloak of electronic nerves, entire continents of machines conversing with one another, the whole aggregation watching itself through a million cameras posted daily. How can this not stir that organ in us that is sensitive to something larger than ourselves?

For as long as the wind has blown and the grass grown, people have sat beneath trees in the wilderness for enlightenment -- to see God. They have looked to the natural world for a hint of their origins. In the filigree of fern and feather they find a shadow of an infinite source. Even those who have no use for God study the evolving world of the born for clues to why we are here. For most people, nature is either a very happy long-term accident or a very detailed reflection of its creator. For the latter, every species can be read as a four-billion-year-long encounter with God.

Yet we can see more of God in a cell phone than in a tree frog. The phone extends the frog's four billion years of learning and adds the open-ended investigations of six billion human minds. Someday we may believe the most convivial technology we can make is not a testament to human ingenuity but a testimony of the holy. As the technium's autonomy rises, we have less influence over the made. It follows its own momentum begun at the big bang. In a new axial age, it is possible the greatest technological works will be considered a portrait of God rather than of us. In addition to holding spiritual retreats in redwood groves, we may surrender ourselves in the labyrinths of a 200-year-old network. The intricate, unfathomable layers of logic built up over a century, borrowed from rainforest ecosystems, and woven together into beauty by millions of active synthetic minds will say what redwoods say, only louder, more convincingly: "Long before you were here, I am."

The technium is not God; it is too small. It is not utopia. It is not even an entity. It is a becoming that is only beginning. But it contains more goodness than anything else we know.

The technium expands life's fundamental traits, and in so doing it expands life's fundamental goodness. Life's increasing diversity, its reach for sentience, its long-term move from the general to the different, its essential (and paradoxical) ability to generate new versions of itself, and its constant play in an infinite game are the very traits and "wants" of the technium. Or should I say, the technium's wants are those of life. But the technium does not stop there. The technium also expands the mind's fundamental traits, and in so doing it expands the mind's fundamental goodness. Technology amplifies the mind's urge toward the unity of all thought, it accelerates the connections among all people, and it will populate the world with all conceivable ways of comprehending the infinite.

No one person can become all that is humanly possible; no one technology can capture all that technology promises. It will take all life and all minds and all technology to begin to see reality. It will take the whole technium, and that includes us, to discover the tools that are needed to surprise the world. Along the way we generate more options, more opportunities, more connection, more diversity, more unity, more thought, more beauty, and more problems. Those add up to more good, an infinite game worth playing.

That's what technology wants.

Religion Belief 2012 Will We Ascend To The 4Th Dimension By Activating Our Dna

Religion Belief 2012 Will We Ascend To The 4Th Dimension By Activating Our Dna
Something is happening out there, and within. Life is speeding up, changes are happening at a faster pace than ever before, what we used to rely on doesn't seem to be there any more. We are dreaming more lucidly than ever. Things are no longer as they seemed. What is happening?

One possible reason is that we are on the brink of an evolutionary leap, to the 4th or higher dimensions. The Mayans predicted that on December 21, 2012, our current world phase would end, to be replaced by the next one, repeating a cycle that has occurred approximately every 5,000 years since the beginning of time. A number of other religions, races and belief systems say that a major event will occur in the early part of this century, that will change our way of life completely.

Part of this process is said to be causing the acceleration we are experiencing at the moment, and will continue to experience at an ever-increasing pace until 2012, as we get closer to the 4th dimension.

Some say that the activation of dormant DNA strands will happen at that time, as part of our spiritual and physical evolutionary path. This will be apparently experienced as a spiritual awakening, or ascension to 4th dimensional living, which will see the expansion of our 3-dimensional world into a completely new experience. This experience will result in a lighter physical body, increased mental and spiritual abilities, and connections to other dimensions.

Each of our DNA strands are said to vibrate at a particular rate, and so can be activated with particular frequencies, by sounds that we can hear, and sounds that we cannot hear. These frequencies are apparently being emanated by the universe at the moment, affecting our abilities, and speeding up our daily life. Things we never knew existed will suddenly become a reality. Abilities we never had will suddenly emerge, and will vary according to the energy patterns we already hold.

For example, some will excel in healing abilities, and move objects with telekinesis, others may see into multi-dimensions. Many of us will be able to communicate telepathically, and manifest wonderful and self-fulfilling outcomes. We will be guided by our existing interests, and soul journey. As part of this process, new synapses will be forged in the brain to widen our sphere of reference.

The skeptical mind may dismiss this whole theory as ridiculous. However, there is another part of the mind we could also use, one that is not restricted by self-limiting beliefs. Now is the time to break free and open up to new possibilities.

This is an exciting time to be alive! This momentous event can be described as strings of energy pulsating through the universe, raising the octaves of life's being, and creating a major evolutionary shift. Once the process is complete, everything will synchronise in perfect harmony, and the world will experience the magnificent symphony of life, in all its beauty

Angela Clarke is an author, having published her first novel 2012 The Symphony http://www.2012thesymphony.com, a story based on the Mayan Calendar predictions for 2012, in December 2008. Before becoming an author, she was a business consultant. Angela lives between London and Southern France.

Do You Like Yourself

Do You Like Yourself

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEND THIS BLOG TO A FRIEND GO TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS BLOG AND CLICK ON THE ENVELOPE.

One day a little girl was playing alone in her back yard.

The next door neighbor saw her and said, "Mary, where's your mother?"

"Asleep," replied the little girl.

"And where's your little brother?"

"Oh, he's asleep too,"

"Aren't you lonesome?"

"Oh, no," the little girl answered back quickly, "I like myself."

But there are people who don't like themselves. They have given up on being a decent human being and feel that now it is too late to do anything about it.

But it is never too late.

And when you pray and push your way toward improving a little each day then one day you will have gone miles even though it was only an inch or half an inch a time.

So pray the following prayer or one like it.

"God give me a push. God make me want you to give me a push." You may come up with a different version of this prayer but all of us can be better and all of us need the help of our Almighty God.

And yes, the best way to be happy is to be nice and nicer...indeed so busy making other people happy nice automatically becomes a regular occurrence.

Nasty certainly isn't all its cut out to be.

"The Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit." ~Romans 14:15

Leftists Typically Deny That Religion Is A Powerful Motivator Of Human Behaviour

Leftists Typically Deny That Religion Is A Powerful Motivator Of Human Behaviour
*

The Left (which is intrinsically secular) always explains-away religious commitment and even martyrdom as being due to either social/ economic factors or mental illness.

*

So - for example - highly devout behaviour (e.g. people voluntarily giving large chunks of their time, effort and money to church projects) is explained in terms of them 'buying' various social support and benefits, and enjoying solidarity.

Or else it is explained in terms of brain-washing (from childhood). Or maybe in terms of religions terrorizing people by anything from fear of violence and murder; to fear of adverse gossip, shunning, expulsion.

In the event of religious aggression or war, the cause is not ascribed to the religion - but to something else such as oppression, exploitation, inequality, poverty, nationalism, economic self-interest, class conflicts, appropriation of resources... "anything-but" religion or religious difference.

Likewise martyrdom (voluntary self sacrifice for the faith) is explained in terms of the martyr either gaining tangible benefits such as status, power or money for relatives or the community (or penalties on these people for failing to martyr oneself); or more often in terms of mental deficiency such as being too dumb to recognize their own manipulation, or a frenzied and unrealistic enthusiasm or delirium (like a berserker rage or a violent drunk) or delusional 'fanaticism' where a psychiatrically sick person is operating on the basis of a pathological state such as delusions or hallucinations.

*

Some such "non"-religious reason is "always" ascribed for highly-motivated behaviour in the name of religion; because secular people simply" cannot believe" that actual religion is a real, powerful motivation - simply because they themselves do not share it.

For modern secular people, religions are merely a mixture of wishful-thinking fantasy, social solidarities and manipulations, and rationalized hatred; hence religion is just "not the kind of thing" which could motivate extreme commitment - and any evidence of apparent commitment therefore must "really" be due to... SOMETHING ELSE.

*

Yet religion is, in fact - and very obviously, potentially "THE MOST POWERFUL OF ALL HUMAN MOTIVATIONS."

"

"AND INSOFAR AS A SOCIETY LACKS RELIGION - TO THAT EXTENT THE SOCIETY IS DEMOTIVATED. "

God Had Placed A Blessing

God Had Placed A Blessing
An ancient blessing on black people will take full effect in 2009. Thousands of years ago God had placed a blessing on black Israelites through Jeremiah. It was not to come about until a certain number of years expired. Those years will have expired in 2009. There might be a spectacular manifestation of God's blessing as two black men, Barack Obama and Colin Powell, ascend to the very top of national and world power.

GOD'S 2500-YEAR SPAN FOR ISRAEL AND JUDAH

Standard lengths of Biblical dispersions have been 2500 and 390 years. This information is not new.

Researchers have already noted that the modern nation of Israel (Judea) began to form after the Balfour Declaration in 1917, which was 2500 was years after Jews were dispersed in 583 BC. Researchers have also noted that the United States began in 1776, which was 2500 years after Old Testament Israel was dispersed in 724 BC.

APPLYING THE 2500-YEAR DISPERSION TO THE BLACK EXPERIENCE

Researchers have always applied the 2500-year span to the white experience. I believe I am adding completely unique and original information to studies of the 2500-year span by applying it to the black experience. This information provides the Biblical significance of Barack Obama's meteoric success in his campaign for the White House. Obama would not have been successful if God had forgotten the blessing that He had made to black Israelites through Jeremiah.

REFRESHING YOUR MEMORY ABOUT THE 2500-YEAR SPAN

The Israelite capital of Samaria was built in 880 BC. Israelites were dispersed by God to be without a homeland for 2500 years. Those 2500 years ended in exactly 1620 when Pilgrims built the Plymouth Colony in the New Testament Promised Land of North America.

The people of Israel had lost their nation in 724 BC after their defeat by Assyria. God set a span of years for them to go without a nation. Exactly 2500 years later, in 1776, New Testament Israel won a war of independence and again became a nation.

THE 2500-YEAR BLESSING ON BLACK ISRAELITES

My study explains the timely rise of black Americans to the top leadership positions in New Testament Israel (USA). Their rise was set to occur in 2009, which seems to be the year Barack Obama will become President or Vice President of the United States. It appears that God will make a spectacular and welcomed manifestation of a blessing He once pronounced through the prophet Jeremiah.

In order to comprehend black Israelite history, you need to review the Books of Kings and recognize the distinction between Israel and Judah. Israelites left the Promised Land when Assyrians dispersed them in 724 BC. Jews were dispersed by Babylonians over a hundred years later.

A BLACK REMNANT WAS LEFT BEHIND

In my opinion, Assyrians and Babylonians ignored black and white laborers when they sought captives to take back to their countries. The Biblical account seems to indicate that captors took only nobility and highly skilled artisans. Everyone else was left behind. I think that many black and white laborers remained in the Promised Land after wealthy Israelites and Jews were taken captive. Jeremiah called them the Remnant.

The government in Jerusalem had remained for over a hundred years after Assyrians took the Israelite government away. So, for a while the government in Jerusalem protected the Remnant from raiders. But, after Jewish leaders were taken captive by Babylonians, the remaining government was gone. Police protection was gone. The black Remnant was left without protection from hostile tribes that stole their harvests and burned their homes. So, they decided to give up on the Promised Land and move to Egypt, which was part of Africa.

JEREMIAH'S PROMISE OF A BLESSING FOR THE REMNANT

The prophet Jeremiah was dispatched by God to announce a double-edged blessing for black Israelites. Essentially God said that He intended to make the black Remnant into a great nation. The Remnant would have become a world empire if it had remained in the Promised Land. I hope nobody passes up an opportunity like that again.

God essentially said, "We can do this the short way or we can do this the long way (Jeremiah 42-45). Either way, you are going to be my people and I am going to bless you."

The Remnant decided to do it the long way and they proceeded into Egypt and Africa. The Remnant also decided to continue to celebrate Ishtar (Easter) and make Easter cakes. They didn't want to give up pagan observations. If a lesson were to be learned, it would be to drop the pagan aspects of the Resurrection celebration.

It must have been a spectacle to behold. Jeremiah was a blue-eyed white man according to an account written by the Jewish Princess Tephi. He probably stood on a rock to address the Remnant and announce God's blessings. I assume Jeremiah was very disappointed when the Remnant chose to proceed to Egypt/Africa. In retrospect we see that the blessing to the Remnant was postponed for the same 2500-year span that had been applied to those Israelites who had been taken captive by Assyrians. We shall see that additional time was added. Eventually, God's blessing would take effect in 2009.

God's blessing is becoming apparent as the year 2009 approaches. Amazingly enough, another blue-eyed white man is addressing black Americans and reminding them that God is keeping His promise and will now bless them. The elections of Barack Obama and Colin Powell are proof that God is keeping his word.

Black American researchers have believed that Isaiah 45:14 was a prophecy of African slaves brought to America. I will add my belief that God brought His wayward Remnant back to Him when slave ships landed in Jamestown, Virginia in 1619. Recall that Israelites who had once been taken captive by Assyrians had completed their 2500-year dispersion in 1620? Normally, the Remnant would have also finished their dispersion in 1620. But, God added time to the Remnant because they had once refused to return to the Promised Land. The time that was added matched standard Biblical lengths.

If you are doing the math as you read along, you need to understand that the year 1619 is the same as 1620. This is because spans of years from one date to another can be figured inclusively and exclusively. Plus, Old Testament Israelites used the Hebrew Calendar, which began in September. The point is that 1619 and 1620 can be reckoned to be the same year.

AN ADDITIONAL 250-YEAR SPAN

You might ask why the Remnant continued as slaves after the 2500-year curse ended in 1620. The answer is that God had told the Remnant they would lose their connection to Him. This disconnection happened over time. The Remnant blended into African populations and lost its connection to God and the Promised Land.

Because the Remnant became disconnected from the true God, it had to be reconnected. This is where an additional 250-year span came in. Disobedient forefathers in the time of Jeremiah had condemned their descendants to an additional 10% (2500 x 10%=250). During this additional 250-year period the Remnant reconnected to the God their ancient ancestors had forsaken.

This additional 250-year span ended in 1868 when black men were finally given American citizenship as a result of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution. By 1868, the Remnant had thoroughly reconnected with God and God rewarded them with citizenship in their New Testament Promised Land. What's more, black Americans have become champions of Christianity. In contrast, many white Americans are dangerously drifting from God. White Americans ought to consider the severe punishment that God has had for backsliders.

390 YEARS AND GOD'S FULFILLED PROMISES

The Remnant had another span of time to fulfill before they could rise to the blessing God had promised them. God said He would make the Remnant a great people. In retrospect we see that God's promise would come about 390 years after they arrived in Jamestown in 1620. That would be 2009. In 2009, when Barack Obama takes office, we will see that God did indeed keep His promise. And it would not surprise me to find that both Barack Obama and Colin Powell are the descendants of the very leaders to whom Jeremiah promised this blessing at the time of the dispersion (Diaspora).

In Ezekiel 4, we see that God applied a 390-year time span to Israelites. It is now apparent that the 390-year span was applied to the Remnant. The Remnant had been brought back to God in 1619/1920. But, it would not be for another 390 years that the blessing would take full effect. After 390 years, which will be exactly 2009, God will raise black leaders up to the height of power in God's great nation. God had promised the Remnant through Jeremiah that He would do this- and we are about to see God fulfill His promise in 2009 in a spectacular way.

Barack Obama is the champion of the Democratic Party and Colin Powell will become the champion of the Republican Party. It appears that a black person will henceforth be in the White House simply to capture the black vote in every future presidential election.

I brought up the 2500-year span for Judah. I believe when we see that the 2500-year time span for Judah was fulfilled, we will be assured that the 390-year time span for black Americans will be fulfilled.

Researchers have noted that a 2500-year time span applied to Judah. In 533 BC some Jews had returned to Jerusalem after their Babylonian captivity. 2500 years later, in 1969, they took possession of the City of Jerusalem after the 6-day War.

40 YEARS, EZEKIEL AND ETHIOPIAN JEWS

In Ezekiel 4, we see that God applied a 40-year time span to Judah. This is in contrast to the 390-year span applied to Israelites. These are actually positive and beneficial years for Black Jews and Black Israelites. They are years of reconnection to God that end in great blessings.

BLACK ISRAELITES: "Ezekiel 4:5 I have assigned you the same number of days as the years of their sin. So for 390 days you will bear the sin of the house of ISRAEL."

BLACK JEWS: "Ezekiel 4:6 "After you have finished this, lie down again, this time on your right side, and bear the sin of the house of JUDAH. I have assigned you 40 days, a day for each year."

A 40-year reconnection process for Black Jews began in 1969 when an explorer discovered a large population of Black Orthodox Jews in Ethiopia and brought them to world attention. In that same year, the first of a serious of efforts began to connect Ethiopian Jews to the modern nation of Israel. In 1996 Dr. Graenum Berger founded the American Association for Ethiopian Jews. Since that year, investigators declared Ethiopian Jews to be blood descendants ancient Jews. Remnant Jews began migration back to the Promised Land.

We see Ezekiel's 40-year time span between 1969 and 2009. The 390-year span that was applied to Remnant Israelites will have run concurrent to the 40-year span applied to Remnant Jews. Both spans will end in 2009.

You might ask why Black Jews faired better than Black Israelites when it came to lengths of time spans. One reason might be that the Remnant in Ethiopia continued to worship God and retained its identity. In contrast, Remnant Israelites totally disconnected from God and lost their identity. This necessitated a painful reconnection period. Slavery was utilized as a means to cleanse Remnant Israelites and to acculturate them. Unlike Remnant Israelites, Ethiopian Jews have had no need to be acculturated.

Can all this be true? I don't think the experiences of Black Jews and Black Israelites, in light of Ezekiel's prophecies, can be dismissed as pure coincidence. Plus, the experience of white Jews and white Israelites blends in perfectly. Time spans and dates are too exact to be coincidental. Of course, there are always atheists and racist religious leaders that are emotionally motivated to "disprove" anything that substantiates prophecy and/or elevates the status of Black people.

WHAT IS THE MESSAGE AND THE MORAL?

The message is that God controls everything He wants to control, including presidential elections. If you think the election of Barack Obama and Colin Powell are God's decisions, you are right. If you think the return of Jews to Jerusalem was God's decision, you are right. And the Bible clearly states that Palestinians and Jews will live in peace. That now seems impossible but prophecy states it will happen.

The moral of this research is that Christians and Jews, whether black or white, had better remain close to God and do what He tells them to do. Also, do not adopt foreign religions, pagan practices and atheism. 2500 years is a long time to wander the earth as prey to other people. It is a long time to be without a place to call home. Chains of love can be miserable, even when they are God's chains.

DO THE MATH

I am including the math for your convenience and I hope you will search the Internet for related information provided by other researchers.

JUDAH:

583 BC Diaspora + 2500 = 1917 Balfour Declaration & return of Jews.

533 BC Reenter Jerusalem + 2500 = Jews Reenter Jerusalem- 6-Day War.

ISRAEL (WHITE AND BLACK):

880 BC Samaria built + 2500 = 1620 Pilgrims built Plymouth Colony.

724 BC Israelites lost nation + 2500 = 1776 Americans became a nation.

1620 black slaves from Africa + 250 = 1868 14th Amendment citizenship.

1619 + 390 = 2009 election of Barack Obama to White House.

2012 Election of Colin Powell to Presidency.

Town Of Greece Case Returns The Establishment Clause To Its Original Meaning

Town Of Greece Case Returns The Establishment Clause To Its Original Meaning
Disappearing week I reported on Legitimacy Thomas' piece of my work in his concurring sentence in Colony of Greece v. Galloway, a widely-discussed resolve on the Group Expose of the Topmost Amendment. This week, I'll put the resolve in context.

The meaning of the Group Expose ("FORUM SHALL MAKE NO LAW RESPECTING AN UNIVERSE OF RELIGION") has long been debated. Arrived are some of the hypotheses advanced:

* The Founders twisted a "CHRISTIAN NATION" in which the federal charge may possibly get rid of Christianity. The Group Expose activist, unmoving, that the federal charge would not loveliness any change of Christians arrogant any other. This was the view of the omnipotent 19th century Total Blind date Legitimacy and law teacher Joseph Present.

* The Group Expose was adopted mainly to protect the states from federal obstacle with their own durable churches. This is Legitimacy Thomas' view.

* The Group Expose was adopted to protect the states from federal obstacle with their own durable churches, but what's more to portend the federal charge to very all religions equally. The Expose did not, unmoving, place atheism or agnosticism on a par with religion. This theory is called "non-preferentialism."

* The Expose not in simple terms open the states from federal obstacle with their own durable churches, but what's more necessary the charge to very all religious opinions, plus atheism and agnosticism, equally. This formulation is called "LACK OF PREJUDICE," and beforehand Legitimacy David Souter was one of its exponents.

* The Expose necessary the charge to lean arrogant backwards to wriggle out of any embarrassment or type of inequality for religion. This is called "particular deportee."

There specific been various modifications and blending of the views put away self-important, plus a relatively confused version called "BUNGALOW," a creed followed dead in the 20th century by some of the higher blinkered justices.

Graduation in the 1940s (NOTWITHSTANDING WITH LINE REARWARD), the Total Blind date issued a series of "PARTICULAR DEPORTEE" personal belongings and imposed them on the states as well as well as on the federal charge. It against the clock became evident that particular deportee was moreover unachievable and unhelpful to the actual meaning of the Group Expose. In this way, in the 1970s the Blind date began a long ramble from particular deportee, wandering through "LACK OF PREJUDICE" and "ACCOMODATION," and near non-preferentialism.

The "COLONY OF GREECE" line seems to disposed this ramble. Legitimacy Thomas' accord detour, all the opinions-majority and dissent-are squarely non-preferentialist. All confirmed that the Colony may possibly in return prayers past Colony Lodge meetings. The playwright of the veto, Legitimacy Kagan, even confirmed unmistakably her substantiation for public prayer. The in simple terms real struggle against was arrogant whether the Colony had treated all religions relatively seeing that selecting clergy to perform the charm. The prevalence trace the Colony had been fair, at tiniest on quadrangle. The veto trace it had deceitfully superior Christianity arrogant Judaism and other religions adhered to by homeland of the Colony. But that was a struggle against arrogant the facts, not arrogant permissible creed.

Nearly existence ago, I wrote an item for the "WILLIAM AND MARY SAFETY CHECK OF INTERNSHIP MAGAZINE" entitled "THE UNUSUAL CENTRAL THEME OF THE GROUP EXPOSE". As someother scholars had accomplished past me, I found that non-preferentialism was, in fact, the raise objections of family who adopted the Group Clause: moreover protection of lob durable churches and absolute congressional single-mindedness of all religions.

This theory seems to be a children opposite from that of Legitimacy Thomas: I infer the Expose was, in introduction to a protection for federalism, a favorable guarantee to all religious believers. Possibly this is why Legitimacy Thomas cited my writings on the Central and Honorable Expose relatively than family on the Group Clause!

In any circumstance, with the "COLONY OF GREECE" line the Court's Group Expose jurisprudence pay to the principal meaning. Whether that jurisprudence must be imposed on the states is further distrust, and Legitimacy Thomas may well be ideal that it must not.

That dying back number involves bearing in mind (IN MY SENTENCE) not the Group Expose, but the "INCORPORATION CREED"-the creed by which the Total Blind date imposes approximately all of the Safety check of Internship on lob governments as well as on the federal charge. The incorporation creed is a supply for further time.

Persuasive Essay On Church And State

Persuasive Essay On Church And State
Why would past rulers or governors try to mix behave and pass on together? Church and state are affiliate and should say separate. I take overt have wherefore in the past the government has interpreted over the perform. We dont command news theme to repeat itself. Also, the government could dishonor migrants if they are in ascendency of the church and morality. Fin wholey, we should dress what the volume says, and the word of honor definitely doesnt say to pray in public by government. We should never mix church and state together, it creates so a great deal tension. Just think how many migrants who stimulate from antithetic countries and different cultures and religions, if the government controlled the church they might not even let them come the U.S. so that would cause only when devastating tension, and it could subscribe to World War III. How many time in the autobiography of e actuallything that things repeat themselves, many. This is becau se people dont learn from their mistakes. This is very true in this situation. When Constantine I was a ruler, he control government and church (Yahoo). That did not work turn up give away that good. Even though they were the main religion, they werent arrogant anything, Constantine love being in charge of everything, playing are religion like little puppets. I think know that church is getting way to public and God doesnt sine qua non public Now moving into God and the bibles perspective on things. Here is a quote prompt from Exodus 20:1, NIV, and You shall have no other gods out front me. And I interrupt this not only as expert other gods, still also things that hinder our religion. We do subscribe to accept other and love others but not to turn against Gods practice of laws and plans for us. Also, with the Declaration of liberty says from the first amendment that the government will take form no law about making a new religion. So, even the bible and the First Amendment says they should be separate. ! Venerable Nicholas Radiant Star Of The Georgians

Venerable Nicholas Radiant Star Of The Georgians

COMMEMORATED ON NOVEMBER 3

Saint Nicholas was the author of many church services, but little else about his life is known. He lived in the second half of the 13th century, and the last years of his life coincided with the reign of King Vakhtang III (1298, 1302-1308), the son of the holy king Demetre the Devoted.

St. Nicholas was one of the greatest hymnographers and spiritual figures of his time, but few of his works have been preserved. Catholicos Anton I writes that Nicholas composed numerous canons and services, including a "Canon of Supplication for Rain." St. Nicholas enriched the spiritual literature of Georgia with his translations as well. Scholars and historians believe that, as the greatest liturgist of his time, he was probably asked to translate many prayers and services from Greek to Georgian.

Among them, they believe, was the "Canon for the Blessing of Holy Water."

The famous 19th-century historian Platon Ioseliani writes that other church services belonging to the pen of St. Nicholas are included among the manuscripts of the Iveron Monastery on Mt. Athos. St. Nicholas reposed peacefully in the year 1308.

A Glory Seed Devotional

THE JOURNEY OF THE RESURRECTION

The journey of the Resurrection began long ago as Adam and Eve first gained knowledge of good and evil and with their expulsion from the Garden of the Creator. It is a journey that would remain hidden for thousands of years behind the faces and lives of those who would deny Gods rightful place in their lives. Hidden until one fateful night in another Garden. A Garden called Sacrifice. A Garden called Surrender. A Garden called Love. A Garden called Gethsemane where Jesus powered by his love for each one of us surrendered and offered his life as a sacrifice. A few days later he died and the gateway to the journey of the Resurrection swung open and fell away.

With the death of Jesus came unparalleled darkness to the earth, a darkness never before felt by humanity, a darkness exceeded only by the darkness existing before the dawn of creation. However it wasnt a darkness you could see with your eyes it was a darkness you could only feel deep in your spirit. With the death of Jesus the earth was plunged deep into a world of hopelessness, a world without peace, and without love. Never before in its history had the earth itself been so close to destruction, as pendulum moved into position for its final swing suddenly time stopped and the hand of God reached across time and space into a stone cold tomb and touched the lifeless body of his Only Begotten Son. Immediately there was a blinding flash of light so bright and so powerful that where there was darkness there was suddenly light and a hand with fresh wounds reached from the tomb of death and gripped the pendulum tightly. All fell silent both in heaven and on the earth.

With strength returning to his hands in one effortless move the Savior pulled the pendulum of destruction from its source of power and sent it crashing to the earth. As the earth rocked to and fro from its impact the powers of evil shrieked in pain releasing its grip on death. Suddenly the earth exploded with life, life such as it had never seen before, life that would never end. Where there was hopelessness there was hope. Where there was conflict there was peace. Where there was hate there was love. Where there was captivity there was freedom.

As the Son of God took a step out of the tomb into a beautiful garden suddenly the mighty gates of heaven swung open revealing the Garden of Creation. Before moving to his place as the Gate Keeper of eternal life the Savior paused momentarily and reached back into the stone cold tomb and slowly pulled another occupant from it. I have come back for you so you may life and have it more abundantly, his voice rang out. The occupant feeling freedom and forgiveness became overcome with joy and began crying, then with his nail scarred hands Jesus wiped away the occupants tears. Did you feel the roughness of his hand as it touched your cheek, because you are the occupant.

.

Grace and PEACE,

Gary

Good Deeds And Christianity

Good Deeds And Christianity
In every ceremonial t?te-?-t?te I've had with a Christian, one race essentially comes up. I've encountered a few variants, but the basic race is this: "By criticizing religion and focusing on all the atrocities calm in the name of Christianity, you are forgetting about all the good goings-on for which Christianity is full-size. You are throwing the immature person out with the rinse water. Christianity has been full-size for some rotten possessions, but we call for not pass up the tons all right outcomes."If we explore this recognizable headland a cut above personally by plugging in some the whole story, the race becomes clearer. A dearest genre of superior Christians is Martin Luther King Jr. In God's Politics : Why the Equalize Gets It Amiss and the Vanished Doesn't Get It, Jim Wallis writes, "But the computation to bad theology is not secularism; it is good theology. It is not continually unorthodox to do magic tricks the name of God and the claims of religion in the public life of a nation, as some secularists say. In which would we be lacking the dead on idea of Martin Luther King Jr., who secured his Bible in one hand and his Construction in the other as he preached, holding us to our best values? Can qualities reject the perceptive deliver a verdict of Archbishop Desmond Tutu in South Africa and Oscar Romero in El Salvador?"Leaning in this headland is the hint that these leaders (King, Tutu, and Romero) did what they did because of their glory. Probably their glory was a contributing business, but does this mean that lacking their glory, they would not hold tight bothered? This seems one-sided to the letters of these leaders, kind religion almost certainly too far-flung gratitude because overlooking their behavior. Tons Christians hopelessly want to tolerate that religion/god is a stitching illness of good goings-on. But a sympathetically, four-sided figure, forced, and empowering evident is all these possessions with or lacking religion. A good unique is a unique who persistently performs kindly acts. A bad unique is one who persistently performs noxious acts. Furthermost of us are not only habitual and fall in the distinguished gray territory linking these immoderation. Constant a sharp-witted seek of history reveals that religion is neither a stitching nor a enough illness of performance all right acts. This is the race where on earth they eyes of my Christian readers are enlightenment up. "Ah ha! I've got you now! You are thankless to fee religion for the bad because saying that it has nobody to do with the good. You can't hold tight it any ways." But I am not claiming that religion is a stitching or enough illness for performance ill-behaved acts either. Jerry Falwell would not be a rupture unique lacking religion. Falwell, Robertson, and the be attracted to hold tight one after the other demonstrated that something is stanchly unorthodox with them. They are separation to be obnoxious, enthusiastic public with or lacking their religion. Larry Darby was a mean physique having the status of he was an agnostic and covering so now that he has embraced Christianity.Tags: agnosticism, agnostic, glory, Christianity, Christian, religion, ethics, Larry Darby, Jim WallisCopyright (c) 2013 Atheist Alteration.

Mk 218 22 Doing Better Than I Deserve

Mk 218 22 Doing Better Than I Deserve
Mk 2:18-22 Be in Get well Than I Warrant

"(Snap at home for readings)"

"The disciples of John and of the Pharisees were typical to fast. Take possession of came to Jesus and objected, "Why do the disciples of John and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, but your disciples do not fast?" Jesus answered them, "Can the wedding business fast where the bridegroom is with them?"

On Valentine's Day, 2002, a substantial experimental girl named Katie Kilpatrick was diagnosed with a sinister be careful tumor. In 2003, she was diagnosed with an inoperable tumor wrapped a number of her pulmonary vein. However, on January 15th, 2005, at the age of 21, she married her high school be fond of. Five days innovative, she died.

To fast or not to fast, that is the consider. The Peer of the realm answers the consider with a question: "Would it be on top form for inhabitants attending a wedding meal to fast? "The manage is manifestly "No!" In other words, why would you ever go to a wedding and brunt the go by looking sad and gloomy?

Ladies and gentlemen: we win to get with the program. We win to start celebrating our life! We win to hang loose the presence of our God! We are his business and have been invited to dine at his form and perform in his joy. Innovation is substantial, regardless of all the difficulties, tragedies, drunks and go poopers that go with it.

Genuine a few days ago I was interruption to a unspoiled friend of wring and by some means or other we got on the subject matter of credit. This good friend of wring has gone feathers some very historic loses and so immediately consumed a few days with some early stages family. So they were departure down link string, she recalled how her friend's shrink, from his wheelchair, would always fulfil to the consider, "How are you doing?" with the conjecture, "I'm undertaking outlying chance than I value. As a child, it didn't mean outlying. As an huge, it has believed the world to her.

Spoken language have a way of changing our lives. They can be moreover substantial and powerful. Ruminate for a subsequent of the initial time someone alleged to you, "I love you." Ladies, do you remember the pressure your boyfriend had in your life like he alleged, "Drive you join in wedlock me?" Or the pressure you had in his life like you alleged, "Yes." Ruminate for a subsequent like your fianc'e alleged, "I do." These words have stood the test of time the same as they come from God and were believed to be used! These words supplant lives forever! No happiness the Son of God is equally referred to as The Word! No happiness why God created the Conception with his Piece, for his Piece have a way of creating everything from nobody.

"The word of God is living and effective, competent to inform reflections and thoughts of the hub (Heb 4:12).

How true! How true! Which equally procedure the devil, true to its form, mettle love to harm the word of God and onslaught us with passed out and discouraging impolite chatter.

The disciples of John heard him say, "This is the beef of God." Samuel heard God say, "Samuel, Samuel!" These words once and for all diverse their lives. After upon a time I heard the Peer of the realm say, "Go and call in the name of the Pioneer, and of the Son, and of the Heavenly Spirit. And I mettle be with you grow the end of time."

Consistency, loss and love. Which of these three are utmost prominently favorite by God? The manage is: It's a three way tie. They all go together. In need tameness, here can be no loss. In need loss here can be no love. Jesus sacrificed himself out of tameness to the Pioneer. And he did so not blindly, but kindly. He did it all out of love.

It is no happiness the Peer of the realm until the end of time refers to weddings whenever he wishes to make himself chance oral. At the back of all, we all call for to be valued, and now we pale win to remember that we are undertaking chance than we deserve!

What Does Metaphysics Mean In Relation To Christianity

What Does Metaphysics Mean In Relation To Christianity
*

Metaphysics is a very interesting subject - doubly so when it interacts with religion.

Interesting - and misunderstood.

*

Metaphysics describes the ultimate structure of reality - it is about the pre-suppositions or assumptions which underlie more detailed considerations such as specific philosophy (e.g. the philosophy of morals, beauty or specific religions) and science.

For a Christian, the most fundamental domain ought to be Christianity, which originates in revelation and revelation is in itself a complex product of tradition, scripture, authority, reason etc.

"After" this comes theology - but theology presupposes a particular metaphysics; for example monism or pluralism, serial time or eternal out-of-timeness, and some kind of point at which questions have to stop and the answer 'it just is' becomes accepted.

*

The underlying difference between Mainstream Christianity and Mormonism relates to metaphysics - Joseph Smith's Restored gospel is based on a different set of metaphysical assumptions - e.g. pluralism, dynamism, serial time, and the stoppage of questions at the terminus of the existence of the stuff of the universe and laws of nature.

The big question is whether a different metaphysics means that Mormonism is not Christian.

And the answer is: obviously not, because metaphysics is a matter of assumptions, and the Christian revelation did not refer to metaphysics.

(Or, at least, the metaphysics of Christian revelation is ambiguous - and can be interpreted in contrasting ways.)

*

But even though metaphysics is an assumption and not a discovery nor amenable to empirical investigation - it does make a difference.

Indeed, it can (for some people, at some times and/ or places) make a profound difference.

Thus a Christianity based on Platonic, or Aristotelian, or Pluralistic metaphysics will have very different emphases, gaps, biases, strengths and weaknesses.

And these metaphysical systems are "incommensurable," meaning that one cannot be mapped onto the other, because each works by a different language - a different lexicon and grammar of belief.

But, they are all potentially Christian - why would they not be?

Christianity is prior to metaphysics.

Fra Barrabbas Tiresius The Qabbalah Of The Magicians

Fra Barrabbas Tiresius The Qabbalah Of The Magicians
The Qabbalah is an abstruse discipline that has an aura of mystery and arcane complexity, making it a euphemism for something that is nearly impossible to understand and useless to the average person. Since knowledge of the Qabbalah is little known to the general public, it has been the last refuge for con-artists and scoundrels, since few can contradict the words of someone supposedly steeped in its mysterious doctrines. However, nothing could be

farther from the truth - the Qabbalah is actually a very practical system of classifying and understanding the symbolic realm of the Eye of Spirit, and so it acts as a map of the transcendental world of Spirit, thus making it intelligible to the mind. The domain of Spirit is non-dual and trans-egoic, and it is extremely paradoxical when examined by the rational mind.

(NOTE: This the Aramaic in this spell is researched but by no means infallible! I also would like to ad that the spelling is in fact incorrect yet purposefully done to fascillitate pronounciation for the reader during ritual. You will need a candle and the a cross and holy water preferably blessed in a church and by a bonifide priest.)

"THE COPTIC CROSS"

A small circle from which emanate four arms of equal length, with angled T shapes in the corners, cross-pieces outward, representing the nails used in Jesus' crucifixion. This cross receives its name from Coptic Christianity, which centered around Alexandria, Egypt.

Oh just so you know...Jesus's name in aramaic is "Yeshuoe" (Nay Elahi. / Son of my god.)

Is There Any Point In Reading Modern Or Non Lutheran Theologians

Is There Any Point In Reading Modern Or Non Lutheran Theologians
I was recently involved in an online discussion regarding the question of whether or not there is any point in reading certain less than orthodox Lutheran theologians (in particular Gerhard Forde, Steve Paulson, and Mark Mattes). We could probably add others (Werner Elert came up in a big way). I think the consensus seemed to be no. What I discerned to be the major concern is the following (and I am open to correction if I got this wrong): The Seminex folks got too interested in modern theologians. This led to their liberalism and the Seminex crisis. We have Lutheran theologians who say pretty much everything right (Luther, Chemnitz, Walther, Pieper, etc.), so what's the point in reading someone who has it right only 80% of the time (actually one participant seemed to suggest it was more like 2% of the time, but the point remains). In response, I don't really think that having an interest in modern theologians necessarily led to Seminex in and of itself. After all, Robert Preus and David Scaer (to just name a few) were/are deeply conversant with modern theology. Scaer even has a few nice things to say about Barth. So, I don't really think the two go together automatically. Personally, I think there is probably a more sociological explanation for why Seminex happened (this is not to be addressed here, but in a future post). I would also suggest that there some very good reasons to read people like Forde or Elert, as well as non-Lutheran theologians of various sorts. These are the following:1. No Theologian is Perfect: Theology is always "theology of the way" as the Lutheran scholastics used to put it. In reading any theologian, no matter how orthodox, one must always be discerning. Gerhard thinks that a good argument against Catholicism is that several popes were wizards. Walther didn't like the Irish and makes some negative statements about them in The Proper Distinction Between Law and Gospel. You might say: this isn't substantial, just an issue with folk beliefs of the day. Yes, but there also several substantial problems I would point to. The Lutheran scholastics mostly did reject Luther's and the FC's view of predestination, thereby making faith a work. As wonderful a text as the Proper Distinction is, there are still many Pietistic elements in it. Walther in my view is way, way too concerned about our personal discernment and introspection. Luther calculated the end of the world like he was some sort of Jehovah's Witness (he said we had 50 years to go!). Again, this doesn't mean that either are not valuable, it just means that they must be read with discernment like all theology.2. Pastors, Laypeople, and Theologians Need Theological Dialogue Partners: Luther described the last stage of the threefold practice of theology as Tentatio=suffering or temptation. He meant two things by this. First, suffering in the sense of being persecuted by the world and the Devil. This would drive one back to Christ and the Spirit through prayer (the first stage Oratio). Secondly, he said that theologians need to be tested by attack from others. He said he became a good theologian by entering into discussion with and being attack by the faculties of Paris and Leuven. How else will we respond to modern challenges if we don't read the other side? As a Lutheran theologian, the best thing I did for myself in graduate school was to make a point to read all the way through Aquinas' Summa Theologiae and Summa Contra Gentiles, as well as all the volumes of Barth's Church Dogmatics. Why? Because Aquinas is the top Catholic theologian and Barth is the top Reformed theologian. How else could I learn to give the maximally correct response as a Lutheran theologian to the Reformed and Catholic traditions without reading them? Also, how else was I supposed to know that I was right about Lutheranism? Perhaps there is a challenge to Luther that I can't overcome! Reading the opposition confirms me all the more in my Lutheranism. Lastly, theology needs to engage with modern thought forms and challenges. This is one of the reason why I find the Erlangen theologian interesting and very much worth reading. Their attempt was to deal with modern thought-forms and challenges in a Lutheran manner. Now, many of their approaches were wrong and represented compromises with modern thought-forms (Thomasius on Kenosis, von Hofmann on atonement, the general abandonment of a high view of Scripture, etc- if my book ever comes out, bear in mind that I spend much time in chapters 4-5 attacking both of these fellows), but it at least tried to engage modern challenges. This is, I believe an important task and can be practiced in a more orthodox manner than they did. The intention was right, many of the methods were wrong! 3. Valuable Insights are to Be Gained from Different Thinkers: Certain theologians are good for different things. Gerhard is good for typological reading of Scripture and for discussion of the prolegomena to the dogmatics. He's also good for the doctrine of the divine essence and attributes. He's not very good for insights into the hidden and revealed God. Forde and Elert are good for understanding hidden and revealed God (for Elert, the first 100 pages of The Structure of Lutheranism, as well as his Glaubens Lehre are great on this subject!- I used Forde's book on Bondage of the Will for my Luther class. It is an excellent text), they are not that good on the third use of the law or on the doctrine of Scripture. Forde is good on a lot of things, but not wonderful on atonement to the least. Bayer is good on the orders of creation, the hidden and revealed God, but again, is very vague about the prolegomena to dogmatics, etc. The point is that theologians of all stripes have all sort of different strengths and weaknesses. One just needs to read them with discernment in light of the Scriptures and the Confessions. Again, the fact that one needs to do this does not denigrates their insights. Neither are there any theologians out there who one can be absolved from error. 4. Reading Certain Theologians Gives Us the Right to be Critical of Them: It's very hard to criticize a theologians with much credibility without having read them. I realize that I'm hypocritical on this point, since I've not read Rob Bell (actually I found out I'm going to have to do so, since I've been asked to teach an adult education class on his errors!). Nevertheless, for example, when I read people on the internet being critical of a theologian and it's clear that they haven't read them, it make me take their criticisms less seriously. Also, actually reading a theologian makes your criticisms more nuanced. For example, a person could say: "Forde is an Antinomian because he doesn't have a third use of the law!" Well, he doesn't- that's true and it's problematic as well. But a number of things have to be taken into consideration like: what concept of the third use is he rejecting? Is it really the one that FC teaches? Does Forde actually think the law has no role in the Christian's life? I address all of these questions in my article for CTQ on the subject which is supposed to be coming out this month (maybe!) and I find the answer is much more complicated. Ultimately I conclude that Forde isn't Antinomian per se, but that doesn't place him beyond criticism (you'll have the ). The point is that yelling "Antinomian" when a more nuanced reading is necessary doesn't help the state of theological discourse. Reading theologians we don't like helps us fairly criticize them. If we don't like a person theologically, it doesn't mean they are guilt of every theological crime. Neither does thinking that some idea sounds like some other idea make it the same idea. We have to read people on a case-by-case basis in terms of their overall theological system.
