Remember "these people" are your brothers and not your enemies. Also note that I said "primary", not "only". I also believe that we to a greater or lesser degree do influence the spiritual world that surrounds us through our words. We overcome the enemy through our words, not only using the Word as a Sword, but the word of our testimony. And remember the Roman Centurion who when seeking the healing of his servant said to Jesus "just say the word and it's done" (my paraphrase). There is spiritual power in our words, how much I do not know or even begin to understand. But the power is there none-the-less. I've spoken to storms and seen them change directions. I've rebuked demons and seen people delivered, set free. I hope, trust that some of our brothers and sisters have much more revelation on this than I/we do. And I don't expect them to have perfect understanding of spiritual matters any more than I expect myself to have perfect understanding.
Do we need to fear others cursing us? I don't, because I trust that greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. As children of the light we need not fear darkness. But those still in darkness are often filled with fear and tremendously influenced by the darkness.
Also note that the scripture that notes that a curse cannot take root where there is opening for it, assumes that a curse can stick if there is room given to it. But I haven't studied this stuff nearly enough to have a strongly formed conviction on it.

Aquella noche fuimos a la casa de Patricia. Cada quince d'ias, a veces una vez por mes, sol'iamos ir Giovanna y yo a lo de Patricia, para charlar de sus cosas, comer algo y luego, poder comentar lo que hab'iamos visto y o'ido en la visita. Muchas veces cre'i que visitarla y estar al tanto de sus historias amorosas, o luego ser testigos de su romance con Andr'es era una manera de reafirmar, conscientes o inconscientes de ello, nuestra relaci'on y nuestra manera de ver al mundo. Como fuere, aquella visita no ser'ia igual que las dem'as, por las cosas que se dispararon en m'i a partir de ese momento hasta el presente.Aquella noche, Patricia nos volvi'o a hablar de su relaci'on con Gisela Saravia, una reikista que atend'ia cerca de la rambla, y de quien, por alguna raz'on, tanto Giovanna como yo sospech'abamos de sus intenciones. Hac'ian varios meses que Patricia asist'ia a las sesiones de reiki con esta terapeuta, y por las cosas que confesaba, le ten'ia much'isima confianza y respeto. Creo que era esa confianza casi ciega la que me intranquilizaba, pues hab'ia colocado a Gisela en un lugar idealizado, digno de los dioses del Olimpo. Una vez m'as, Patricia nos cont'o sobre sus sesiones de reiki, los beneficios que encontraba en ver semanalmente a su terapeuta, las cosas que Saravia le comentaba en cada sesi'on... Porque no solo cumpl'ia con sus funciones de reikista sino que Gisela tambi'en se reconoc'ia como vidente, por lo que en cada sesi'on, compart'ia con mi amiga lo que su percepci'on o videncia le permit'ia ver.Un incr'edulo dir'a que existen frases dichas por videntes, tarotistas y esoteristas varios que son, en definitiva, lugares comunes. Todos tenemos problemas y quiz'as una pena no resuelta, deseamos un amor que valga la pena o un trabajo que nos permita vivir c'omodamente sin preocuparnos por las cuentas. Claro que cuando las observaciones que estas personas realizan son certeras, y aportan detalles que solo el consultante conoce, el incr'edulo no encuentra respuesta m'as que refugiarse en la casualidad. Pero yo no creo en las casualidades. Dios no juega a los dados...Esa charla que tuvimos con Patricia aquella noche destrab'o ciertos recuerdos que yo ten'ia casi olvidados. Record'e cuando a mis 11 a~nos, pasaba camino a la escuela por una jugueter'ia para ver en su vidriera un mazo de cartas de Tarot. Record'e con qu'e ganas hubiera comprado ese mazo de haber tenido el dinero que se ped'ia por 'el, si no hubiera representado una fortuna para m'i en ese entonces, y si la religi'on de mis padres no me hubiera influido tanto. Mis padres eran Testigos de Jehov'a: ?c'omo pod'ia yo interesarme en unas barajas, instrumento demon'iaco o sat'anico, creado para la adivinaci'on, cosa que Jehov'a Dios proh'ibe y detesta? ?C'omo pod'ia yo, con todo el conocimiento de la verdad que ten'ia, sentirme tan atra'ido por ese mazo de cartas? Lo cierto es que, todos los d'ias, pasaba por la vidriera de la jugueter'ia para ver el mazo de Tarot, pensando que alg'un d'ia, me comprar'ia ese juego de barajas. Tambi'en record'e c'omo con unos 13 a~nos, aproximadamente, le'i en la Biblioteca Nacional el "Grimorio de San Cipriano", libro de magia ceremonial de tiempos medievales. Record'e con qu'e deseo y entusiasmo imagin'e construir una espada seg'un las medidas que el libro proporcionaba, y me dirig'ia al Culvert Miguelete para, una noche de Luna llena, poder consagrarla como el mago detallaba en la publicaci'on. Claro que tambi'en record'e c'omo enumeraba en mi mente los inconvenientes de dirigirme nada menos que al Culvert Miguelete con una espada en la mano, porque andar con una espada a las doce de la noche no es algo que todo ciudadano haga, y porque la costanera del arroyo representaba en mi mente uno de los lugares m'as peligrosos de la ciudad. Creo que inconscientemente asociaba los olores desagradables que del arroyo proced'ian con lo feo, sucio, malo y peligroso, sin que hubiese otra alternativa posible. Pero no solo le'i el grimorio en cuesti'on, sino que record'e c'omo en la Biblioteca le'i otros libros con tem'aticas similares, como libros de hechizos y encantamientos, libros sobre vampiros, monstruos de diversas especies, etc. Siempre fui un 'avido lector, y la Biblioteca Nacional me permiti'o ampliar y diversificar mi lectura. As'i, la alquimia, el esoterismo, la kabbalah, el diccionario de Champollion, las sociedades secretas como la masoner'ia o los rosacruces, entre otros desfilaron ante mis ojos, junto con las obras de Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Bram Stocker, William Shakespeare, entre muchos m'as.La conversaci'on con Patricia me hizo recordar que con unos 15 a~nos, aproximadamente, aprovechando que estaba solo en casa, me encerr'e en mi cuarto y con un l'apiz labial de mi madre, realic'e un c'irculo en el piso, y dibuj'e dentro una estrella de cinco puntas. Record'e que me desnud'e completamente y me sent'e a contemplar el pent'aculo que hab'ia dibujado. Encend'i una vela, y all'i me qued'e contemplando el suelo. Luego esper'e ver im'agenes en la llama de la vela, realic'e rezos que seg'un mi educaci'on religiosa hasta el momento eran prohibidos o no ten'ian sentido, invoqu'e presencias espirituales y me decid'i a hacer un par de experimentos. Con una piola y un tornillo grueso, que convenientemente estaba perforado a lo largo, improvis'e un p'endulo, al cual le hice preguntas. No s'e si antes hab'ia visto hacer esto, o si este impulso provino de alg'un otro lugar desconocido, pero sea como fuere, recuerdo que el p'endulo se movi'o. No conforme del todo, coloqu'e en el suelo del cuarto dos bolitas de vidrio, de esas con las que se jugaba en la escuela, y me dediqu'e a mirarlas, fijamente, deseando que se movieran. Y una de ellas se movi'o, como despedida o rechazada por la bolita que ten'ia al lado. Creo que me asust'e o sorprend'i, pero tambi'en me sent'i especial y, en mi ignorancia, poderoso...Algo en la charla con Patricia dispar'o estos recuerdos, y en la semana que sigui'o a este encuentro, comprarme unas barajas de Tarot fue casi una obsesi'on para m'i. Por alguna raz'on, yo sab'ia que el mazo que quer'ia era el llamado Tarot de Marsella, as'i que recorr'i librer'ias y casas especializadas buscando el mejor precio. Para mi disgusto y preocupaci'on, el precio oscilaba entre los 700 y los 1300, cifras prohibitivas para mi bolsillo. Hasta que a la segunda tarde, si mal no recuerdo, pregunt'e en un comercio a seis cuadras de mi casa. Para mi alegr'ia, no solo vend'ian tarots, sino que el costo era de tan solo 450. Creo que no es necesario que explique la excitaci'on con la que fui a comprar mi course book mazo de barajas. Al llegar a casa, abr'i el mazo, las recorr'i una por una, les sent'i su olor, y al poco rato las guard'e...Casi por tres meses las cartas estuvieron guardadas, mientras yo le'i todo cuanto pude sobre la historia del Tarot, el significado de las cartas, las distintas maneras de leerlas o "tirarlas", etc. Una tarde, Patricia llam'o a casa, angustiada por sus problemas sentimentales. La atendi'o Giovanna y luego de hablar un rato, me llama y me dice:-Migue, upset Pato si le pod'es tirar las cartas-. En realidad, no hab'ian pasado los tres meses que yo supe, desde el course book momento, deb'ian pasar, y sin impose sanctions, algo me dec'ia que no estaba mal si aceptaba esa oportunidad. -Bueno...est'a bien, decile que s'i. Pero decile que se las tiro con el papelito al lado...continuar'a...
