Cuchillo De Mango Blanco

Cuchillo De Mango Blanco

Solitary Affirmation Ritual

Solitary Affirmation Ritual
Place a flame at the north point of the stone circle, saying:

"I give honour to the Lands of my Gods,

Ancient and good.

And the power that is within them.

Hail Odin!"

Put a flame at the east point, saying:

"I give honour to the Winds of my Gods

Ever fresh and new,

And the power that is within them.

Hail Odin!"

Put a flame at the south point, saying:

"I give honour to the warm Sun of my Gods,

Ever giving of new life,

And the power that is within.

Hail Odin!"

Put a flame at the west point, saying:

"I give honour to the seas and lakes

And rivers of my Gods,

And the power that is within them.

Hail Odin!"

Stand before the altar and place a light before the Rune of Odin, saluting and saying:

"hail Odin, giver of victory,

Thou who knowest the runes of wisdom,

And of power.

Bring me again to be with thy people.

Those who know the strength of thy

Ancient ways.

Give me of thy wisdom.

That I may better honour thee

As I prosper in thy name.

Hail Odin!"

Add any other items which you might wish to mention to Odin, and then drink in his honour. Next place a light before the Rune of Thor, saluting and saying:

"Hail Thor, laughing, red-bearded

Thundered and guardian.

Bring me again to be with thy people.

Those who know the joy and robust power of thine

Ancient Ways.

Give me of thy might, and of thy laughter

That I may better honour thee

As I prosper in thy name.

Hail Thor!"

Add any other items which you might wish to mention before Thor, and then drink in his honour. Next place a light before the Rune of Freya, saluting and saying:

"Hail Freya the Fair One,

Beautiful enchantress, jewel of the Gods

And chooser of the mortals who are most honoured.

Bring me again to be with thy people.

Those who know the magick and beauty

And triumph of thine Ancient Ways.

Give me of thy pride and persuasion

That I may better honour thee

As I prosper in thy name.

Hail Freya!"

Add any other items which you might wish to mention before Freya, and then drink in her honour.

Stand silently for a long while, meditating on the presences of the Old Ones, the Gods of our folk who are eternally young, eternally powerful, and returning again here and now to cast their sacred presences about you. Sense their power about you. Now is the time to add any words which you would deem appropriate, for yourself or for others.

When you feel that the rite should end, face the runes of the Gods and take up the chalice one last time, saying:

"O Great Ones of High Valhalla,

I give honour to thee

For being with me here.

May some of thy presences

Remain within me as I leave.

And be ever near me, as well as with

Those who are my true people.

To thee do I drink this toast,

And pour this libation.

Hail Freya! (salute)

Hail Thor! (salute)

Hail Odin! (salute)

Pour some of the drink out before the altar, and drink what remains. Then put out the candles at the North, East, South and West. Stand before the altar with your arms out, saying:

"I thank thee, O Great Ones.

The rite is ended."

From Stumbling Blocks To Stepping Stones

From Stumbling Blocks To Stepping Stones
FROM STUMBLING BLOCKS TO STEPPING-STONES:ADVERSITY AS A KEY TO SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENTKATHY L. CALLAHAN, PH.D. Many schools of thought teach us that it is the difficult things in life that serve as an impetus to greater growth and wholeness. Jesus said that temptations (stumbling blocks) must come as a necessary experience in life. Buddha expressed this sentiment when he said that it is our enemy who teaches us the most valuable lessons. According to the psychological concept of individuation, it is only by overcoming adversity that we become whole and fully functioning individuals capable of realizing our true potential. Similarly, the Edgar Cayce readings teach us that it is the difficult things in life that present us with opportunities to further our spiritual development and bring us closer to God. The readings tell us that a soul enters the earth plane to learn lessons necessary for its spiritual development. It is only after we have applied and mastered a lesson that we are allowed to continue on to the next step. God is patient and merciful. We are given opportunity after opportunity to become the creative beings we were meant to be. The readings also tell us that very few experiences happen by chance. "Hence in the relationships, the meetings with others in WHATEVER form or manner, such are not coincidental but are rather as purposeful experiences." (1722-1) Every person we meet, each condition we encounter, and all the situations we face, present us with an opportunity to learn lessons designed to help us on our spiritual journey. A number of esoteric traditions teach that prior to entering the earth plane each soul is given the opportunity to CHOOSE what lessons it desires to learn. During this "life mapping" session, the soul is given the opportunity to see all the possibilities it may meet based upon the choices it makes. The soul rejects some and agrees to others, knowing that some may involve physical pain, emotional sorrow, or suffering. While in the spiritual realm, the soul sees the greater purpose each experience may bring, knowing that physical experiences are temporal and cannot truly harm it. The soul accepts those experiences in the knowledge that they will foster a unity-consciousness with God. A soul may therefore agree to endure what appear to be hurtful relationships and tragic conditions during a physical lifetime on Earth. The most common reasons for doing so appear to be to learn a lesson, to teach others, or to make manifest the glory of God. In fact, the readings give numerous instances of "advanced" souls who entered the earth plane with a physical or mental disability so that others might learn from their associations with them. When we enter the earth plane, however, the "veil" of this material world clouds our memory, and the reasons for which we came move to the subconscious level of our minds. We begin to see with our physical eyes rather than spiritual vision. While the conscious mind of a person may not be aware of the choices made by the soul, the individual subconsciously knows and understands the reasons for the condition. INDIVIDUATION AND SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT A parallel can be drawn between the psychological process of individuation (first developed by Carl Jung) and Cayce's concept of spiritual development. In individuation, the strongest desire of any human being is to fulfill his/her full potential. In the readings, this equates to the soul seeking to correct its errors of perception and realize its true nature and relationship with God. In individuation, this urge comes from the unconscious mind and requires the forging of the conscious and unconscious. The readings attribute this urge to "memory of First Cause," contained within the spirit (spark of God) of each human being. It is First Cause that prompts us to look beyond our five physical senses and integrate all three components of ourselves: body, mind, and soul. In order for the process of individuation to succeed, a person must confront his/her shadow self. In order to awaken spiritually, a person must confront his/her true nature as a co-creator with God and acknowledge that as creative beings, our thoughts and actions create our experience. While at first look this may not seem to equate to the "dark side" of the shadow self, it truly does equate, because this requires us to accept the fact that we can create evil as well as good. "Ideas may be merely thoughts. As they run the course through those activities and minds of individuals, they may become crimes or they become miracles, dependent upon that with which the individual entity gives the thought or the idea to an ideal..." (5250-1) The goal of individuation is an indivisible, unified personality. The goal of spiritual development is a "fully integrated human." The fully integrated human is able to move beyond the perception of the five physical senses and perceive phenomena that exist in the world of pure spirit or energy. This enables the person to see with a new type of "spiritual" vision, look beyond old paradigms built upon differences (separation), and act according to paradigms based upon unity or God-consciousness. Simply put, the fully integrated human becomes aware of his/her spiritual nature, and begins to act upon spiritual impulses rather than selfish desires. The catalyst for individuation is something that is destructive or life threatening to the individual. The catalyst for spiritual awakening is often adversity of some kind. The readings call these experiences stumbling blocks and frequently admonish us to take the stumbling blocks we encounter in our lives and turn them into stepping-stones toward greater spiritual growth and development. The story of Job is an excellent illustration of this process. The Book of Job tells us that Job was a righteous man and that none of the misfortune that befell him was due to his own making. If you accept the premise that the soul chooses the lessons it desires to work on while in the physical plane, you realize that Job chose the experiences he encountered, knowing the great soul growth that would occur if he met those experiences with the right spirit. Scripture clearly indicates that Job met the many misfortunes of his later life in the same spirit he had met the good fortune of his early life-with patience, understanding, and faith. Job could easily have reacted with anger and even hatred toward God for all the evil that befell him. Some might even say that he was justified in doing so. If he had made that choice, however, he would have separated himself from God and fostered a separation-consciousness. Instead, Job chose to manifest spiritual attributes thereby reaffirming a unity-consciousness between himself and his Creator. Because of the misfortunes he experienced, Job knew both good and evil, and through free will, made the choice to manifest good. By returning good for evil, Job experienced a high level of spiritual growth. When we experience those difficult things in life, we need to remember that it is our response to those difficulties that truly defines us. If we respond from a divine perspective, we make a choice to rise above surface appearances and search for the lesson each experience brings. We demonstrate our belief that there is a higher order and wisdom at work in the world, and reaffirm our unity with God. KATHY L. Independent Fundamental Baptist Catholicism By Bryan Denlinger

Independent Fundamental Baptist Catholicism By Bryan Denlinger
.

IS IT POSSIBLE THAT INDEPENDENT FUNDAMENTAL BAPTISTS HAVE ELEVATED UNSCRIPTURAL TRADITIONS ABOVE THE KING JAMES BIBLE? YES!

It began with water baptism, for which I was unceremoniously UNfriended by some "devout" Baptists on Facebook, who first attempted to show me the error of my ways, of course! Now, it seems, I am after the Baptists, for I am appalled that they parrot that man is saved by faith alone, nevertheless, water baptism IS A MUST!

NO IT IS NOT! I am still listening to this series, and am hoping that Bryan Denlinger touches on this. Even if he does not, such is NOT scriptural. Water baptism was preached by Jesus and the apostles DURING HIS LIFETIME, and was meant for the Jews, the purpose for which Christ came to earth.

It was ONLY after his death, burial and resurrection that Christ sought to give Paul the gospel of grace, to us ward!

WE MUST DIVIDE THE WORD OF GOD, PROPERLY!

1 Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying, 2 WHY DO THY DISCIPLES TRANSGRESS THE TRADITION OF THE ELDERS? FOR THEY WASH NOT THEIR HANDS WHEN THEY EAT BREAD.

3 BUT HE ANSWERED AND SAID UNTO THEM, WHY DO YE ALSO TRANSGRESS THE COMMANDMENT OF GOD BY YOUR TRADITION?

4 FOR GOD COMMANDED, SAYING, HONOUR THY FATHER AND MOTHER: AND, HE THAT CURSETH FATHER OR MOTHER, LET HIM DIE THE DEATH.

5 BUT YE SAY, WHOSOEVER SHALL SAY TO HIS FATHER OR HIS MOTHER, IT IS A GIFT, BY WHATSOEVER THOU MIGHTEST BE PROFITED BY ME;

6 AND HONOUR NOT HIS FATHER OR HIS MOTHER, HE SHALL BE FREE. THUS HAVE YE MADE THE COMMANDMENT OF GOD OF NONE EFFECT BY YOUR TRADITION.

Passion Sunday

Passion Sunday
Hebrews 9:11-15 * John 8:46-59

The Church, in her wisdom guided by the Holy Spirit, chose today's Gospel reading for the beginning of Passiontide, the climactic final weeks of Lent that carry us right through the betrayal and crucifixion of our Lord on Good Friday. Now, the emphasis is on the cross in a special way, for we must fix our gaze on it and what it means. Before we begin to consider any other aspect of this time of the year, and of our Scripture readings as appointed, and what they teach us, we ought to bear in mind that Jesus foretold his death and resurrection many times long before entering Jerusalemthat last time. He "meant"to go there; he saw the cross as his mission; he insisted on giving his enemies the opportunity to do quite literally, their worst, with such words as: "And [you] say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets. Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets. Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers."1In short, not only did he refuse to avoid the cross; he ran toward it.And so it is with his words in what we read today:

"Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM. Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple."

I will provide an explanation of why this statement is a picture of Jesus running, figuratively speaking, to the cross. But, first, we should clear up one possible objection. It may appear otherwise, inasmuch as at this point in the story he, as it says "hid himself." Frankly, the reply to that objection is obvious: As he had once said to his blessed virgin mother: "mine hour is not yet come." 2 His disciples had not yet been prepared; all things had not yet been accomplished. 3 But, in this passage we see that he gives his enemies a cause for pursuing him, hounding him unto death.

I could say this in my own words, but it was said so well already by Fr. Laurence Wells that I will simply quote from one of his bulletin inserts: "God revealed His name...telling Moses, 'I AM WHO I AM.' That mysterious and awesome Name was abbreviated with the one word all devout Israelites past and present feel is too sacred to be uttered aloud, the Divine Name YHWH.

"When Jesus began to make statements, 'I am....' it surely sounded as if He were claiming for Himself the very Name of God, the Name too holy to be spoken above a whisper. But in John 8:58, He left no room for doubt, when He stated firmly to His opponents, 'Before Abraham was, I AM.' Not only did He claim to be older than Abraham, He claimed to be God. If the words are obscure to us, the meaning was perfectly plain to the Jews. It is no wonder that they attempted to stone Him on the spot."

I do not know how important each of you considers the doctrine of the Incarnation and the doctrine of the Trinity to be; but, understand, that it was Jesus Christ's open revelation of these two doctrines that led to his death: the eternal truth about himself as God the Word (o'), with God "and" in the beginning with God, 4 though clearly visible as a man with flesh and blood. He confessed and revealed that he was one with the Father, and it was this that made his enemies mad with hatred, and that caused the opposition and hostility that became present throughout the time of his public ministry among the people. If Eusebius was correct, these things were spoken before most of the events we read about in the other Gospels, even before the Sermon on the Mount where he also spoke of himself as one with God:

"Not every one that saith unto me, LORD, LORD, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, LORD, LORD..." 5

However, whether he spoke them very early or near the time of his entry into Jerusalem, the effect of the words, "before Abraham was, I AM," is obvious: They picked up stones meaning to stone him to death.

In chapter 10 of St. John, we see a strikingly similar passage, where Jesus says:"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I AND MY FATHER ARE ONE. Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him." 6

The Incarnation and the Trinity are the double theme that sounds clearly in each of the four Gospels, and especially so in the Gospel According to John; it is even more clear in this, the fourth Gospel. And, here, in these passages from that Gospel, we see the strong connection binding together this double theme of Christ the Son of the Everlasting Father, one with the Father and the Holy Spirit, and the theme of the cross. That Jesus is fully God and fully man, that he has revealed his uniqueness as One with the Father, led directly to the enmity that culminated in his cross and death. So, in her wisdom, the Church opens Passiontide with an explicit public statement Jesus made about his divinity: "Before Abraham was, I AM." He revealed this to a hostile world, and he did so because his mission to die for the sins of the world was, as the St. Luke calls it the Book of Acts, his "passion."7

We see what his cross does for you and for me by hearing the Epistle appointed for this day:

"By his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?"

Saving the human race from sin and death, most especially those who believe in him, was his passion. For that cause he embraced the cross as his passion. Nothing could keep him from it. The revelation that he, as he stood before them in creaturely flesh and blood as a man, is one with the Father, was both worth dying for, and was the motive that he handed them to go ahead, in their madness and fury, to seek his execution.

It also tells us that terrible truth we do not want to know. Throughout the history of Christianity many preachers, even some of the brightest, have made a habit of using these passages to speak of the Jews as especially evil, as the ones who hated God. But, if we understand clearly the words of John, we see a double lament in his first chapter, in the eleventh verse: "He came unto his own, and his own received him not." The fact, however, is that John was also one of "his own," that is, his own chosen covenant people. So were all the disciples, So was the Lord's blessed virgin mother. So, also, was God the Son himself, the incarnate Word. He was flesh in the general sense, fully human. Specifically, as every human being who lives in the real world (as opposed to a theoretical world) comes from a specific people, he too was a Jew; he chose the Jews, and he came into the world as a Jew, born the son of a Jewish virgin, raised in a Jewish home, affirming always the truth of Jewish religion and Scripture as God's own revelation to his one and only chosen, beloved covenant people.

After all, that eleventh verse from John's first chapter follows the tenth verse, which is why I said it is a "double"lament: "He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not." The evil of those who "knew him not" as children of the devil is not some special designation of Jewish unbelievers; it is the terrible truth about the whole human race - the world that does not know Christ; for not knowing Christ is what defines "the world." And, apart from his grace given to you through baptism and through your faith, it is the truth about you. You were born a child of the devil, subject to the full wrath of Divine justice. That is, in fact, why the cross was Christ's passion.

When Jesus was betrayed, he called his betrayer "friend."

"Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast. And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him. And Jesus said unto him, FRIEND,wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him." 8

Judas Iscariot was no friend, was he? But, Jesus was not saying that Judas loved him; rather he meant that Judas was still the object of his, that is Christ's, love; of Divine love. Christ still loved his betrayer, calling him "friend." And, as everyone can quote, he said about "all" his persecutors "among"both Jews and Romans, "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do." 9 This is consistent with his words, "And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world." 10 Saving the whole world was his passion, whether Jews or the many Gentiles, that is, the people of all nations. He went to his cross willingly; indeed, no one could have kept him from it. It was his passion to save all the children of the devil, and make them into the children of God through himself; as many as will hear and believe.

When John specifies "the Jews" he merely relates, on one hand, a fact of history: that is, it was Jewish people to whom, he spoke. But, in emphasizing their Jewish identity (which they shared with Jesus, and his mother and all his disciples), he was not saying they, as Jews, were especially evil. He was saying that even the" best"people, the people of God who were born into his covenant and who knew his revelation, were lost in sin and death. How much more so, then, were those who "were "once Gentiles born into a hopeless condition of sin and death, born into the world as children of the devil, needing adoption and new birth as children of God. We stand in total dependence on, and in need of, God's grace. That is why, in his love for fallen mankind, for you and for me, it was his passion to embrace the cross. Possessing the infinite power of Divine love, He calls his enemies and betrayers, namely you and me, "friend." 1. Matt. 23: 30-322. John 2:43. John 17: 1, 44. John 1: 1-14 5. Matt. 7:21, 226.
