Continue the process of expanding your light body so that the entire city in which you live exists in your being - the buildings, the people, the traffic, and the country side.

Continue to expand your sense of self to include in your physical being the state in which you live, your country, and ultimately the entire planet. now see that the whole world exists in you - all the people, all other sentient beings, trees and forests, rivers and mountains, rainfall and sunshine, earth and water - these are different components of your being, just like different organs in your body.

Now quietly say to yourself, "I am not in the world, the world is in me." Whatever imbalances you see in this world of yours, as the divine beings still dancing in your pulsating sphere of a heart to correct them. Ask these diving beings to fulfill any desire you have and to bring harmony, beauty, healing, and joy to the different parts of your cosmic self. Continue to expand your sense of self to include planets and moons, stars and galaxies.

Now say to yourself, "I am not in the universe; the universe is in me." Slowly begin to diminish the size of your cosmic self until you can once again experience your personal body. Imagine trillions of cells in your personal body - all part of a dance, each cell an entire universe unto itself. Remind yourself that your true being inhabits all these levels of creation, from microcosm to macrocosm, from the atom to the universe, from your personal body to your cosmic body. Remind yourself that at each of these levels of your existence you have available to you the divine energies that nonlocally orchestrate the cosmic dance to create the harmonious interaction of elements and forces that can fulfill any desire. Express your gratitude to these archetypal energies.

Now just remain sitting or lying quietly, feeling all the sensations in your body. You may feel tingling or exhilaration. After two or three minutes open your eyes. The exercise is over.

New Illustration Project Wandlore By Alferian Gwydion Maclir

Well, my day job as a graphic designer for a display company has been very busy, we had some big reports that we had to pull together for our big national client, and much of it was "creative writing" so I bet you can guess who was heading up that project! It was nothing but work, work, work, I even brought it home! Gah! Now it's done, and submitted, so I can get back to my magical world of art, illustration, and sharing with my dear readers!And on that note, I have an exciting announcement! We even ate out at a real restaurant! But first, we spent all morning at the San Luis Obispo Children's Museum, which we consider worth every penny we spent. The museum had something for everyone, even Baby O., who played dress-up with his sister and also hung out in a padded ring filled with cushioned Velcro blocks. The first floor of the museum sports a giant bubble machine, and a few other displays that are aimed at older children. The second floor was where we spent most of our time. It is basically a child's Let's Pretend dream-come-true! There was a place to play restaurant, with literally everything a child could want for it, right down to the toy hamburger buns. There was a play firetruck, with fireman costumes in various sizes. Also, a farmer's market, toy police motorcycle, and a place to play veterinarian. The third floor was more for little ones, with lots of puzzles, books, blocks, and a huge train table.It was the play room every child dreams of.And what I appreciated most was that, unlike so many children's museums, it was "not" political. Five stars from all of us!DAY SIXWe can't make a trip to the coast without visiting Morro Bay State Park, land of the wild turkeys, great blue herons that are as tall as my seven-year-old {I do not joke}, double-crested cormorants egrets, and brown pelicans. Our hike was pretty mild, though the children loved spotting seals from the shore. We headed up to an area near the museum of natural history {we didn't go in because we have been before and nothing had changed and we weren't all that impressed the first time}. That's when it happened. It was like magic. We saw a literal feeding frenzy! There must have been large schools of fish in the bay. We have never seen anything like it. The birds were diving all over, and then the seals were thrashing about in the water, and it was so loud that it was astounding!That made the whole morning worth it. It felt like we were watching some sort of miracle. The children were under the spell as much as the adults; it was enchanting. We were told by another onlooker that when the children are older we can rent kayaks and be out there in the middle of it when it happens.DAY SEVENThis day, we went back to Avila Beach, and did our whole routine all over again. It was just as fun the second time, but this time we had grandparents with us, too.That evening, we returned for the Friday Night Farmer's Market. There was live music, and we also walked the pier one last time, and ate cookies. Yum.DAY EIGHTI needed to pack, but the children accompanied their granmama to an art store {with decent works in it, by the way}, a pet store, and took an overall interesting walk, which was a great way to end the week.

The Character Of Magick

I have a friend, her husband is morbidly obese through indulgent overeating. Whole roasts at night! She feels betrayed. Her husband says she should trust him, even though his last two years are filled with an adulterous affair, a current romantic interest and games she cannot possibly unravel. The young magician says he wants love, but lurks around the house peering out windows after the love spell is complete. He becomes bitter because magic doesn't work either.

In Stephen Covey's book Seven Habits of Highly Successful People he provides a tool. Envision yourself at your own funeral. People come to speak of you. Your mate, your co-workers, your friends, your children. What would you want each of these people to say about you? Now, he says, look at your life. Are you living your life, are you interacting with these people in such a way that they can say that about you? If you want your wife or husband to say that you were supportive, creative, generous and understanding - have you been supportive? Creative? Generous? Understanding?

We are the sum of our behaviors and experience. Our actions throughout our lives define who we are and what our beliefs are. It matters not what we say, if our actions express another belief and personality. My friend's husband refuses to understand why his wife cannot, will not trust him. In the past year he has given his wife a sexually transmitted diseases, had an affair without protection, risking his life, her life and the future of their children. He may see himself as a good man, an honorable man - but there is no validity.

But there is no issue here with his honor, he has none.

The magician who has lit a candle and said the right words, never followed up with actions consistent with that stated goal. His actions say not, "Hey, I want love and am willing to be a partner." These actions state, "Hey, you come to me. I'm not going to change. If this isn't easy, I'm not going waste my time."

Recently a young girl wrote us and said her father was and elder in a Lutheran church, but she was pledged to the Goddess. Her question? She was scheduled for confirmation, should she go through with it?

I passed this question amongst the wiccan community. I was astonished to discover that almost every Pagan said, "Sure, why not?" It would save strife and avoid embarrassing her father. Folks thought I was so harsh to have told this child that if she lied, she would be a liar and that lie would shape her life. Now her actions are expedient, later it will become easy.

When you screw it up, lie, don't follow through commitments, it shapes your life, sets up the pattern for the future and defines you. There is a cultural myth that beliefs are important - not acts. Other sects insist, "Through your acts shall you be known." People have not been trained to examine their thoughts and actions for consistency with their values, commitments, and stated belief system. Those who follow the Old Gods and their magick must.

I tell those beginning in magic that they must look at the overall picture. If you cast your spell, but do not follow up with action consistent in the accomplishment of your goal, the magick is weakened and ineffective. If you cast your spell, using proper words, but have any conflict or doubt about those goals or words, the magick is weak and ineffective. When people tell me that so-and-so bad person is casting spells for harm, I rarely worry. Weak character will provide for poor follow-through and inconsistent internal messaging, and thus their magick is weak and ineffective.

For magick to truly work, for our world to be magickal, we must decide what we want it to look like, what we want us to look like, and then live the appropriate actions, and thoughts, to bring it into being. We must become who we are. If wiccans are not people of honorable and consistent character, then this magick we love so much is just a fantasy of illusion, a pretty game.
