Greetings,
Most mage/wizard players expect to learn new spells in gameplay. RAW, however, you just can't spend character points earned in campaign to learn new spells (and there was a intense discussion about this). While looking for some solution, I found this on Dungeon Fantasy 6 - Sages, p. 15:
"A reader who meets all the prerequisites to "learn" the spell may try to do so: read the scroll, roll against its skill, and on a success, pay one character point to learn it instead of casting."
It also says on a side note in the same page:
"Scrolls and GURPS Magic
...and the rules for learning spells and for new classes of scrolls arent described in Magic."
Although it says that this rule isn't described in Magic, I was wondering if it was described elsewhere or if DF 6 - Sages was the first GURPS book to present such rule. If so, is that a Dungeon Fantasy special rule? Or would that also apply to more a complex fantasy setting like Banestorm (which I'm currently playing)?
Alongside magical scrolls, the Reawakened advantage (Basic Set, p. 80) seems to be another viable way to learn spells quickly than spending hours studying and DF 11 - Power-ups (p. 37) seems to confirm the idea that you can remember spells from past lives. Am I missing something or is that right?

"The joy of the Lord is your strength."-Nehemiah 8:10.My mother got me a beautiful cookbook for Christmas, and I was thrilled to find Scripture, little passages,and thoughts mingled throughout the recipes. One of the passages that leaped off the page was quoted from Charles Spurgeon. It was as follows:Send out the heat of piety into your house, and let all the neighbours participate in the blessing..... "The joy of Jerusalem was heard afar off." The joy of the Lord should be observed throughout our neighbourhood, and many who might otherwise have been careless of true religion will then enquire, "What makes these people glad, and creates such happy households?" Your joy shall thus be God's missionary.This passage got me curious, and I began to search the internet for more on this subject by Mr. Spurgeon. The quote was actually taken from a message he preached at the Metropolitan Tabernacle in 1876.This is the Scripture that Mr. Spurgeon used for that sermon:"And the singers sang aloud, with Jezrahiah their overseer. At the close of the previous post I presented an image from a fashion photo shoot as an illustration of the meaning of the triangle eye. Those responsible for the shoot obviously know their symbols. I was curious what other beans might have been spilled during that shoot, so I traced the image to this site, Siwy uncovers their 2011-2012 Holiday Lookbook. I found a scene exposing the heart-as-vulva metaphor, the Valentine. We'll find a hidden ritual sodomy reference here too.
I've presented this descriptive collection in previous posts to dramatically illustrate the meaning of the heart and arrow symbols, which are sexual, anatomical. The leveraging of this symbolism is usually in a context of alien sex, basically, a union with Horus, and often in the context of ritual abuse. Look for other cues that signal the context.
Images used by pedophiles to express their preference for little girls leverage the same heart shape metaphor, as presented in the unclassified FBI Intelligence Bulletin, referenced in the previous post to illustrate their leveraging of the anal triangle symbol.
In the Holiday Lookbook shoot, the model's posture reveals two things. First, of course, the obvious, with her spread legs, but then what's not so obvious is her crossed arms. Besides serving to frame and feature the obvious signal, is she telling us she has a secret, like as with crossed keys? If you don't know about the big secret you may need to reread the previous post. The big vulv-uh - heart should be familiar to those of you who may have celebrated Valentine's Day with a traditional gift. You can see it's a shallow heart-shaped box with silver sides. With a bouquet of roses on top, another traditional gift on Valentines day, the identification is pretty clear - it's a giant box of assorted chocolates.
The anatomical interpretation of the heart symbol is plain enough, especially with the bouquet of pink roses placed to represent the clitoris. Now think about the symbol of the rose. What is under the rose, sub-rosa, but a secret? The crossed arms and the rose both direct us to the secret. What is sub-rosa but the chocolate, hidden inside the box. What is under the secret of the crossed arms but what the model is sitting on. In this scene, the chocolate box, bright white and stark in contrast to the rest of the image, appears behind the model's head as a halo of light. She is illuminated by ritual sodomy, the so-called Key of David. Now you know her secret.
When I was young, the Fanny Farmer brand was popular on Valentines Day, a brand local to Rochester, NY. In slang, the word "fanny" means "buttocks". Right. Just what they were farming appears to me now to be a crop of sodomites. Coming from the region devoted to Hermes, that just seems so appropriate. So wrong, but appropriate.
What this scene says to me is that she has had Beta sex kitten programming, which is usually pictured by dressing models in feline prints. The compartments of the bookshelves represent the many alters of a Monarch multiple, isolated and compartmentalized.
In the scene where she appears on the trunk, you can see a parasol or umbrella peeking subtly into the shot. The umbrella references a standard programming system associated with military programming. It locks and unlocks a Delta assassin or Delta-Beta alter. Ritual sodomy was used by Alexander the Great and Hitler to program their deadly soldiers. She can be a sex kitten or a deadly assassin, and both.
Could it really be that we have been programmed and mind controlled by the workers of iniquity, like the Bible tells us? What other conclusion could be drawn? Yet, the Lord is pouring out His favor upon us in these last days and setting us free to serve Him in truth with a love that endures. Right on time!

Those responsible for this know things, drawing from the wellspring of unholy spirit as they also sell voodoo dolls that look like the characters in the movie simply titled "9."
This is about the Marquise line, as in Marquis de Sade, that legendary character from whose name comes the very word, sadist. Think abuse, trauma. Notice the progression of the line; forest, chocolate, plum. The image for Plum depicts the illumination of the third eye through the purple portal. This follows the Chocolate, where we see the virtual model's bottom in the backside view. Sadistic Satanic ritual including sodomy is often performed in the forest, in a secluded outdoor setting during pagan SRA holidays. Marquise Forest to Marquise Chocolate to Marquise Plum. Uh-huh.

Thanks Aaron! The guitar is the right symbol to be signaling the Beta program. The instrument is sometimes referred to as a woman because of the shape resembling the female form. The "hips" of the feline print wearing "woman" is the featured part.

In the death of Jean Montanet, at the age of nearly a hundred years, New Orleans lost, at the end of August, the most extraordinary African character that ever gained celebrity within her limits. Jean Montanet, or Jean La Ficelle, or Jean Latanie, or Jean Racine, or Jean Grisgris, or Jean Macaque, or Jean Bayou, or "Voudoo John," or "Bayou John," or "Doctor John" might well have been termed "The Last of the Voudoos"; not that the strange association with which he was affiliated has ceased to exist with his death, but that he was the last really important figure of a long line of wizards or witches whose African titles were recognized, and who exercised an influence over the colored population. Swarthy occultists will doubtless continue to elect their "queens" and high-priests through years to come, but the influence of the public school is gradually dissipating all faith in witchcraft, and no black hierophant now remains capable of manifesting such mystic knowledge or of inspiring such respect as Voudoo John exhibited and compelled. There will never be another "Rose," another "Marie," much less another Jean Bayou.
It may reasonably be doubted whether any other negro of African birth who lived in the South had a more extraordinary career than that of Jean Montanet. He was a native of Senegal, and claimed to have been a prince's son, in proof of which he was wont to call attention to a number of parallel scars on his cheek, extending in curves from the edge of either temple to the corner of the lips. This fact seems to me partly confirmatory of his statement, as Berenger-Feraud dwells at some length on the fact that the Bambaras, who are probably the finest negro race in Senegal, all wear such disfigurations. The scars are made by gashing the cheeks during infancy, and are considered a sign of race. Three parallel scars mark the freemen of the tribe; four distinguish their captives or slaves. Now Jean's face had, I am told, three scars, which would prove him a free-born Bambara, or at least a member of some free tribe allied to the Bambaras, and living upon their territory. At all events, Jean possessed physical characteristics answering to those by which the French ethnologists in Senegal distinguish the Bambaras. He was of middle height, very strongly built, with broad shoulders, well-developed muscles, an inky black skin, retreating forehead, small bright eyes, a very flat nose, and a woolly beard, gray only during the last few years of his long life. He had a resonant voice and a very authoritative manner.
Jean's ideas of religion were primitive in the extreme. The conversion of the chief tribes of Senegal to Islam occurred in recent years, and it is probable that at the time he was captured by slavers his people were still in a condition little above gross fetichism. If during his years of servitude in a Catholic colony he had imbibed some notions of Romish Christianity, it is certain at least that the Christian ideas were always subordinated to the African--just as the image of the Virgin Mary was used by him merely as an auxiliary fetich in his witchcraft, and was considered as possessing much less power than the "elephant's toof." He was in many respects a humbug; but he may have sincerely believed in the efficacy of certain superstitious rites of his own. He stated that he had a Master whom he was bound to obey; that he could read the will of this Master in the twinkling of the stars; and often of clear nights the neighbors used to watch him standing alone at some street corner staring at the welkin, pulling his woolly beard, and talking in an unknown language to some imaginary being. Whenever Jean indulged in this freak, people knew that he needed money badly, and would probably try to borrow a dollar or two from some one in the vicinity next day.
Testimony to his remarkable skill in the use of herbs could be gathered from nearly every one now living who became well acquainted with him. During the epidemic of 1878, which uprooted the old belief in the total immunity of negroes and colored people from yellow fever, two of Jean's children were "taken down. I have no money," he said, "but I can cure my children," which he proceeded to do with the aid of some weeds plucked from the edge of the Prieur Street gutters. One of the herbs, I am told, was what our creoles call the "parasol. The children were playing on the banquette next day," said my informant.
Montanet, even in the most unlucky part of his career, retained the superstitious reverence of colored people in all parts of the city. When he made his appearance even on the American side of Canal Street to doctor some sick person, there was always much subdued excitement among the colored folks, who whispered and stared a great deal, but were careful not to raise their voices when they said, "Dar's Hoodoo John!" That an unlettered African slave should have been able to achieve what Jean Bayou achieved in a civilized city, and to earn the wealth and the reputation that he enjoyed during many years of his life, might be cited as a singular evidence of modern popular credulity, but it is also proof that Jean was not an ordinary man in point of natural intelligence.

Myrna, my beloved secretary for eleven years at Holy Trinity Church, Ukiah, shared with me a love of Merlot. Although not an Episcopalian, she very nevertheless assiduously read the Scriptures passages as she typed the bulletin each week, and would often raise questions. As we discussed them one day, she remarked: "There sure are a lot of vineyards in these readings!" Indeed, there are, and it's particularly fitting to be thinking about them in the context of the annual grape crush here in Sonoma and surrounding counties. As Isaiah uses it (5:1-7), "vineyard "is a common metaphor for "the beloved, a lover", the house of Israel, the people of Judah who are "God's pleasant planting". Notice that it's "Godself", in the Isaiah passage, who digs and clears, and plants, and builds a watchtower, and hews out a wine vat, and waits patiently, expectantly for a yield of grapes. But all that God gets in return from the beloved are "sour "grapes. Long before the time of Isaiah's ministry, people had cried out to God in the words of Psalm 80: "Restore us, O God of hosts...Turn now, O God of hosts, look down from heaven; behold and tend this vine; preserve what your right hand has planted" (vv. 7; 14-15). And God did...in so very many ways. for centuries. Yet in Isaiah's time, for all God's previous tender care of the people, they still deliver only "wild grapes". "[God]" expected justice, but saw bloodshed; righteousness, but heard a cry!" (Isaiah 5:7b) Through Isaiah, God predicts the logical consequences of unfaithfulness and non-responsiveness on Judah, God's vineyard. It will be destroyed. "What more was there to do for my vineyard that I have not done in it?" (Isaiah 5:4a) Matthew's Gospel (21:33-46) speaks of another vineyard owner. As in Isaiah's passage, the owner plants, fences, digs a wine press, and builds a watchtower. This owner, however, leases the vineyard out to tenants, "and went to another country..." One might ask several questions: Who are the tenants? friends whom the owner could trust, or strangers? Did the owner make clear the terms of upkeep? Whatever the case, the owner returns at harvest time, expecting a juicy and profitable yield. He sends slaves to collect the produce "three times", but the tenants brutally beat the first, kill the second, and stone the third. Inexplicably, Matthew says, "again he sent other slaves, more than the first; and they treated them in the same way." We find ourselves wondering "Why in the world would he ever do that?" The real kicker is that, after at least six slaves, probably more, are gravely injured, either beaten and/or killed, the owner sends his son to collect the goods. Amazingly, in a 1st century Palestinian context, all of this behavior is both feasible and believable. It was Rome's practice to award conquered land to warriors and statesmen [we'd probably call them "politicians" today!] who frequently became absentee landlords with tenant farmers. The tenants would often rebel in order to acquire land for themselves. Since, by snuffing out the son(s) of the owner, the land was considered owner-less, the tenants might claim it as their own. More unbelievable than the tenants in this case, however, is the owner who, even after what they did to the slaves, would risk sending his son. Could it be that Matthew wanted to convey a sense of God's utter patience with people: even to the point of absurdity? The wicked tenants in Matthew's story do not disappoint, and promptly and with finality "do in" the innocent son: "...they seized him, threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him." Upon which, Jesus poses a question, which you and I recognize from the context as being a "loaded" question: "Now when "the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those tenants?"? The disciples unhesitatingly and unanimously conclude, as well might you and I: "He will put those wretches to a miserable death, and lease the vineyard to other tenants who will give him the produce at harvest time." Jesus' response suggests that the disciples, and you and I, should bear in mind what has already happened previously in Chapter 21 of Matthew's account: - Jesus had made a triumphal entry into Jerusalem on a donkey, symbol of royalty, and drew branch-waving crowds out to cheer him on as "the Son of David" (21:1-11; - Jesus had lashed out in anger at the buyers and sellers in the temple courtyards, and overturned the moneychangers' tables 21:12-13); - Jesus had immediately confronted the chief priests and scribes when they tried to call him on people assigning to him a clearly Messianic title: "the Son of David" (21:14-16); - Jesus had cursed a fig tree because he was hungry and found no fruit on the tree (21:18-22); - Jesus confronted the chief priests and elders a second time when they demanded his credentials of authority. In a crafty move, he agrees to tell them, but only if they'll explain if John's baptism came from God or of human origin. When they refuse on the lame grounds that "We don't know", Jesus refuses to answer their question (21:23-27); - Finally, Jesus had just raised a parable about two sons, whose father had asked each of them to go and help him out in his vineyard. One flat out refused, but later changed his mind and went. The other eagerly agreed to go, but, for whatever reason, didn't go. "Which of the two did the will of his father?", asks Jesus. The hearers respond: "The first." Jesus reminds the hearers whose hearts were hardened against Jesus and his message that tax collectors and prostitutes, two groups of pariahs in society at that time, had readily accepted John's preaching of repentance, whereas "they" had not. Just so, he says, it'll be the tax collectors and prostitutes who come into God's reign, and not them: "For John came to you in the way of righteousness and you did not believe him...even after you saw it, you did not change your minds..." (21:28-32) In today's parable Jesus reinforces that by saying: "...the reign of God will be taken away from you and given to a people that produces the fruits of the kingdom." Who owns the vineyard? Unquestionably, "God and only God "owns the vineyard: the world, the Church, us, our lives. Scripture scholar Robert Kysar notes: "We may forget that we are servants who have been entrusted with the responsibility of being the Church. We may forget that we are little more than tenant farmers responsible for what God has given us." Throughout history God has sent faithful servants, down to the present time. And God has sent us God's own Son, Jesus. Who is the Lord of the vineyard? "God in Jesus "is. Our task as servants and tenants of the vineyard is to acknowledge this by living our lives in a way that says that we "believe "it; to take the gifts which God has given to each of us and use them for the good of the community, the Church, and the world; to be responsible stewards, filled with gratitude for the time, talent and treasure with which God has "smothered" us in this country, even at our worst, compared to many places in the world. St. Paul, in the Epistle (Philippians 3:4b-14), is at his most eloquent in describing what must motivate us in working as faithful tenant-servants in the vineyard: "...whatever gains I had, these I have come to regard as loss because of Christ...I regard everything as loss because of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord...I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection...I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus made me his own..."
It is theoretical that marriage is ended in fantasy. How about love? Everywhere does love come from? This own authority is too take to define by words.
