Wet N Wild Coloricon Be Jeweled Nail Lacquer Collection Spring 2012 Swatches And Review
Wet n Wild has a new Coloricon Nail Color collection out now and I have to say, it's amazing. They're prismatic duochrome multicolored glitters, just like the China Glaze Prismatic Chroma Glitter polishes. In fact, most of these seem like duplicates of the China Glaze colors, but I loved those so by default I love these. They're just as nice, just as smooth, just as color-changing, just as sparkly, only a little more sheer and they come in smaller bottles. The colors are:Born Into Privilege - Bow In My Presence - Jewels For Your Highness - Speak When Spoken To - The Crown Is MineWet n Wild Born Into Privilege. This one is a light green glitter that has gold, yellow-toned green, blue-toned light green and silver small glitter and small/medium multicolor hex and round glitter. It shifts from gold to green and, at an extreme angle, blue-green.Wet n Wild Bow In My Presence. This one is blue and aqua, a little teal, a strong pink and purple duochrome, a tiny bit of gold and the same multicolored hex and round glitter added for depth. This is one of the prettiest ones because it has a little more color to it (less silver) and it shifts quite noticeably in normal lighting.Wet n Wild Jewels For Your Highness. This one starts out as mostly pink, but it shifts to silver, purple and gold, depending on the angle. In the third picture, you can see that it's pink near the cuticle and purple toward the free edge. The last picture shows the gold flash starting to appear at the cuticle end. Much more noticeable in real life.Wet n Wild Speak When Spoken To. This one is a silvery blue that shifts to pink and purple. Like all the others, it has that sparkly, magical, fairy-dust looking combination of color-shifting microglitter, small silver-based glitter and slightly larger hex and round rainbow glitter, so there's a lot in here to catch your eye at any angle.Wet n Wild The Crown Is Mine. This one looks like a light purple with swirls of lighter blue, but when you change the angle it flashes pink, purple, gold and even a bit of green. In the bottle it seems similar to Jewels for your Highness, just with more blue. On the nails it's quite different. Extremely pretty.I tried layering these over black since so many of you recommended it for the China Glaze Prismatic glitters, and wow. Everyone who said it's like galaxy nails without even trying was spot-on! These are amazing over black! Since they're a little bit sheer, the glitter particles spread out a bit across the black instead of clumping together so you can really see all the different parts that make up the polish. Here's a quick swatch of each over a plain black creme:Born Into Privilege (one coat) over black creme.Bow In My Presence (one coat) over black creme.Jewels For Your Highness (one coat) over black creme.Speak When Spoken To (one coat) over black creme. The Crown Is Mine (one coat) over black creme. The formula on these was really nice. It was smooth and thin and didn't clump or give me trouble. They are more sheer than the China Glaze Prismatics, but still looked mostly opaque three coats, which is what I'm wearing here. A little bit of the nail is visible through the polish in the areas where I spread the polish a little thinner. The brushes in these were not that great. They're wide, fairly flat and rounded at the edge, but the quality was inconsistent. Some of them were perfect, but others were fluffy and mop-like and I had a hard time maneuvering around my cuticles with them. Dry time is very fast. These need a lot of topcoat to look good. I'm wearing one coat of Gelous for these pictures, but they eat topcoat as they dry, so when I wear them, I wear two or more coats just to give them a glassy finish.Love these duochrome glitters. These and the China Glaze ones are the only polishes like this I've ever seen. If you get a chance, you really should check these out in person because pictures really don't show how fascinating they are. I mean it, they're really, really cool and I find myself just picking up the bottles to look at them and go "ooooooooh". These colors looked very similar to the China Glaze Prismatics when I held the bottles side by side, but I'm waiting for my smashed finger to heal before I do a swatch comparison. One thing to keep in mind about these is that they're mini bottles- only 0.30 fl oz / 9 mL. Still, they're affordably priced at just under 3 a bottle. The China Glaze ones range from 3.50-8 depending on where you shop.
