That makes "knot magic" very simple to do if fact you can do it anywhere, no matter what level of Wicca you are. The main principal behind knot magic is that with every knot you tie you repeat the intent/focus of your spell. Lets take for example the candle beside: to finish that candle you are doing approximately 45 chants/repeats of your intent - one for every tie of the knot. Now can you see how powerful this type of magic is? I am going to walk you through making the candle beside with all of the steps involved further down the page so you can get an idea of what you need to do.
You can add knot magic into any type of spell that you do, you just have to have some twinge/rope etc involved in the spell. I also find this wonderful to use when making any talisman or charms, clothing etc anything that can be tied.
I have put this spell together to bring Wealth, Love, Wisdom and Happiness to all who enter the light of the candle, however this will give you an idea of just what you can do with a knot spell. If you want a spell that just focuses your intent on say love you can adjust the items you use in order to achieve the outcome desire. A quick word of cautions, this is very powerful magic, always be sure what you are wishing for before you preform the spell.
WEALTH, LOVE, WISDOM AND HAPPINESS CANDLE
Things you will need:
* CHURCH OR PILLAR CANDLE (I use the smallest one most of the time because it fits so nicely to the cinnamon). However you can choose from the multitude of candles available nowadays or even make your own depending on what the out come of your spell is.
* CINNAMON STICKS Approximately 20-30 depending on the size of candle and sticks. Cinnamon is used to represent love (put some spice into your love life), happiness and wealth.
* COOKING TWINGE (I find this the best to use due to the heat of the burning candles)
* ROSE ESSENTIAL OIL - to anoint the candle with. Rose is to represent love is all of it's glory and beauty.
* SAPPHIRE CHIPS - Sapphire is to represent and bring wisdom into your life as well as help you find a deeper spiritual awareness. You can change this depending on what you have a great cheaper substitute is Citrine.
* SCISSORS - for cutting the Twinge
INSTRUCTIONS
* Prepare yourself for the incantation. For Crafting Wicca I find it easy and simple to have a nice clean work space and a peaceful setting. I do this in a space were I have my altar candle light and I will usually meditate on my intent first to find my inner calm in order to preform the spell. However there have been occasions when kids have been in the house and I have worked around the situation in order to make it work.
* Layout the items needed and give thanks for them.
* Leaving about 2-3 inches of twinge at the end take your first cinnamon stick and tie a knot around it about an inch from the top, as you tie the knot say you intent to yourself or aloud if able. In this spell I will say: "LET ALL WHO ENTER THE LIGHT OF THIS CANDLE HAVE WEALTH, LOVE, WISDOM AND HAPPINESS COME INTO THEIR LIVE IN ABUNDANCE."
* Take the next cinnamon stick and repeat step 3. Do this again and again until you have enough cinnamon sticks to surround the candle. I find it easy once they are tied together to wrap the cinnamon chain around the candle to see how I am going, and judge it from there.
* One you have enough cinnamon sticks in your chain then wrap the twinge around the end stick and move to about an inch from the bottom of the first stick. I do the whole knot with the same unbroken piece of twinge. You then start again and go back the other way. Once you have done this you will end up with what looks like a small rope bridge.
* Anoint your candle with your chosen essential oil while repeating the line as you do it: "LET ALL WHO ENTER THE LIGHT OF THIS CANDLE HAVE WEALTH, LOVE, WISDOM AND HAPPINESS COME INTO THEIR LIVE IN ABUNDANCE."
* Wrap your cinnamon bridge around your candle, it will naturally fall at an angle, tie off the top section and then wind the twinge around the whole bridge to keep it nice and tight, now wind the twinge a second time around the bottom section and tie it off to join the ends. You should now have a nice neat and secure cinnamon bridge wrapped around your candle.
* I know adjust the twinge so that it looks neat and is 'finished'.
* Finally place your crystal chips on the top of the candle, as the candle heats up when lite the crystals will stay in the wax and heat as well.
* Give thanks and close your spell
This candle is now ready to go and be used on any occasion. I tend to use this one on a special occasion like a solstices or when I am having guests over and I tend to burn it right through, however it can be relight and used again. Please remember when using candles/fire you must always take precautions as it can be dangerous and never leave fire untended.
